I've got no issues with the statement. He's a highly paid, now former, employee. It's professional - just like a lot of other businesses.
Just saw the Popbitch email and saw this snippet - oh for the pure comedy we could've had with these lot:

"Remember baseball-capped 777 who were given the green light to buy Everton? Their empire crashed and burned so badly that last week they sold Genoa FC to the man who founded Romania's biggest furniture brand. (Their other club Standard Liege, in Belgium, is still up for sale.)"

I mean I think he was sacked much earlier, probably yesterday, and the team as well as Baines will have known. It’s not like they have just rang Baines up now and said “oh btw you’re managing tonight lol”

Just because we’ve only just found out about it doesn’t mean it has only just happened.
Been on Twitter since early this morning and one or two people say they heard something yesterday but wasn't til today it was confirmed.

Bottle job

Doesn't make sense. Because surely the 11 he has fielded this season are not much worse than the team he stayed up with in his first season or finished comfortably with last. And surely a signing or two in the transfer window can only strengthen his chances. The issue was he knew he was going in the summer and that just doesn't bode well to keep someone in those circumstances.

This has happened fast, they must have someone lined up

(Caveat, past Everton experience leads me to doubt this, but here's hoping under the new regime)
