Absolutely rubbish manager
He had 18 games left when he took over and knew exactly what he was getting into and here we are 17 games later with our fate out of our hands needing other teams to get beat. Even though the point accumulation under his charge has been slightly better than Lampard's (which isn't a very high bar), it has still been pretty much relegation form. Poor decision making, baffling team selections and substitutions and too many draws that some could have been wins which would have taken us out of this calamitous situation.

The board got it wrong again.

‘I told them that at half time. It’s about mentality, not about shapes and tactics. And they got their reward for giving a proper shift and trying and never losing the belief that we could score.

lol

Good grief, how uninspiring must that be? Playing elite level football and the coach has nothing more to offer than 'put a shift in.'

Lampard 15 points from 20 games but had all the bottom half home games except for Leeds. Dyche 18 from 17 games & let’s hope for 21 from 18.

Both lampard and dyche having to play games without an average forward being available, can't be too critical if haven't a forward, with some forwards those away draws cud been wins, need to get some scoring forwards in the Sumner and give dyche next season see how he gets on, can't keep changing managers and hope can turn these players into better players, managers don't get onto pitch every weekend

Lampard said in one of his interviews that he told the team it wasn't about tactics. And he got a lot of criticism. So its not a good sign when Dyche is saying the same.

I genuinely see little difference since we changed manager. We are as bad as we were. We still concede far too many and dont carry enough threat. Most of that is because of the players, but a good managers comes in and shows improvement.

…I think we were 2 points adrift going into the last 4 games;

Brighton A
City H
Wolves A
Bournemouth H

i reckon most posters would’ve settled for a possible 7 points from 12 available. Last week some were suggesting 4 points from our last 2 games will DEFINITELY see us safe, we are in a position to achieve that.

As for selection, he has gone with what he trusts. The Doucoure sending off & Coleman’s injury were major losses. The DCL fragility was well known and the failure to have an adequate back-up is down to Thelwell.

injuries forced him to try Holgate and Godfrey but he discarded them. He was far too loyal with Keane; Mina and Coady are much better options but I suppose he came around to that view in the end.

i think we take stock next week but at the moment I’m not in a rush for change.

Sensible post.

Vast majority were saying 4 points would keeps us up in the final two, we’re on course to achieve that.

Hopefully it’s enough.

He’s defo improved us after lampard but it was a very low bar tbh. Shame it’s out of hands depending on what happens in other games this weekend.

We’re still having zero luck with injuries etc, but the state of the squad is the boards failing, not Dyches.

The lack of using youth players is a big issue for me. Mills should have been on the bench yesterday, he’s played right back hasn’t he?

Dunno what Simms has done to get the cold shoulder - of DCL is done the kid had to start against Bournemouth.

If maupay gets anywhere near the team it’s a joke.

Inside info but Dyche is absolutely despised by the players. Serious fractions and spilts among players.
In saying that perhaps it's time to flog the trouble makers and stick by the manager....

If we stay up I'm all for letting him continue. He has undoubtedly made mistakes, the form of Yerry Mina for example indicates he should have been months ago.

It's hard to argue this but at the same time we were 100% gone with Lampard. Dyche has given us a fighting chance.

Would it have been better with another coach? I'm not so sure.

Anyone being too critical of Dyche is underestimating just how bad this group of players are.
