…I think we were 2 points adrift going into the last 4 games;

Brighton A
City H
Wolves A
Bournemouth H

i reckon most posters would’ve settled for a possible 7 points from 12 available. Last week some were suggesting 4 points from our last 2 games will DEFINITELY see us safe, we are in a position to achieve that.

As for selection, he has gone with what he trusts. The Doucoure sending off & Coleman’s injury were major losses. The DCL fragility was well known and the failure to have an adequate back-up is down to Thelwell.

injuries forced him to try Holgate and Godfrey but he discarded them. He was far too loyal with Keane; Mina and Coady are much better options but I suppose he came around to that view in the end.

i think we take stock next week but at the moment I’m not in a rush for change.

All of this, i think hes a proper football manager.

‘I told them that at half time. It’s about mentality, not about shapes and tactics. And they got their reward for giving a proper shift and trying and never losing the belief that we could score.

lol
Bloody incredible….he mentions mentality that much i though he was our new no 9

If he got Burnley promoted and then into Europe he can't be that bad. If we get relegated, we will struggle to appoint someone who is a step up.

Nonetheless when we go down, we need a squad that is balanced in terms of position and rotation options.

If we do stay up, the only circumstance that would make sacking Dyche not ludicrous, is having a new Board/owner in who have a very clear idea of what direction we want to go in on the pitch.
Most excellent point. Whatever your thoughts on Dyche, we all know it's absolutely down to which way the wind is blowing aligned with affordability that dictates who we appoint.

Chances are we'll be here again next season, so to speak. If we get anyone of decent calibre they'll go anyway once they work out how much of a circus the executive is.

To be fair he was dealt a very bad hand - if we go down just think back to all the bottom teams Lampard played all six pointers & he managed to lose 99 % of them - West Ham & Leeds at Goodison was are only 3 points - we lost to Southampton - Wolves away we lost the lot bar Southampton - the Bournemouth week was when Moshri should have got rid of Lampard just before the world cup - he waited far to long to save an extra £ million of compensation .... It will cost him more than a million if we are relegated ......

Dyhche has had to play superior teams to get his points tally where it is - a massive task with Franks squad .....
