The season we finished 7th we had a fully fit Steven Defour in midfield and we played some half decent stuff for half a season.

He was a bit Brexit with us. And the transformation under Kompany now is mindblowing. But Kompany has only been able to do this because we’ve got more money than anybody else in the Championship - and that is because of Dyche.

He will make you harder to beat straight away. And he won’t stand any [Poor language removed] from your players.

@Dwight K Schrute

A lot of talk about him not accepting less than 100% from the players. I'd argue that hasn't really been the problem under Lampard - ok Gordon and Doucoure appear to have downed tools this season, but Lampard did I think mostly rid the squad of poisonous attitudes.

The problem we have now is quality wise, we're not that good. Lampard was a bit of a tactical vacuum which other managers with more nouse exploited.

I think Dyche's main job is devising a tactical plan that makes us more of a goal threat and simultaneously makes it harder to score against us. Literally the only time we've caused any oppo a tactical problem in months was the city game where we randomly changed formation. I don't really know if Dyche is a 4-4-2 man or if he was just playing the hand Burnley dealt him but I think he'll need to mix it up a bit now as the league has moved on - I think you need very good players to play the same system week in, week out and get results for a sustained period now. That said, I do think Dom has always done much better with someone close to him, so 2 up might suit him. I just wonder what problems it might cause further back though.

Hope it's a relatively short deal

I’d be shocked if we’re not talking minimum 2.5 years. I reckon he’ll get 3.5 years and the lesson about paying off managers, won’t have sunk in.

Should be incentive based contract triggers.
Keep us up, have a bonus year etc…

As much as you can blast the board for everything.

There has been a consistent player issue, and there has been pre-Moshiri. They simply don’t have the drive.

If he can turn players from lethargic to running through brick walls, then I’m all for it.
Nope. He will avoid skillfully, good players and fill the dressing room with 'good, solid pros', see also really poor footballers, who bring the banter.

And our fans will lap it up. They will love this complete lack of quality because they seem to be aggressive. They will completely miss the point that a good coach will bring good football, good players, improve players AND get them to play either aggression.
