So you would just say hang fire Sean just going to put the feelers out see if anyone fancies your job don’t worry tho ginge if no one levels above you shows interest you keep it buddy. What’s u23 signings going to do for us? The next 3-4 signings need to be first team regulars with experience, we aren’t in a position to put our hope in up and coming players and expect them to perform every week.

But not in their late 20's or early 30's. I.E. past their sell by date.

In our circumstances it come down to what the club can afford but not in Football terms O.A.P's.

Generally you need big money to sign top players.

Better to sign younger and play them so they can become even better than those 'experienced' players.

We'd end up with senior players who have only experienced failure.

Depends on what people opinions are on regards to entertaining football. I for one I’ve been pleased with how we have played under dyche with what he has available. Yes it’s not perfect at times and needs improvements, but im hoping with the right additions we will see that. Looks like he wants a physically fit powerhouse team that can force errors and counter attack. But also mix it up and do the ugly side. I’m all for that at present.
You'll get sick of bodies behind the ball, no possession football soon enough. It's one thing having that in a needs must, imminent relegation threatened scenario but playing that against Luton at home will get the boo boys out at Goodison. Everyone accepts it against City or the other better funded teams, especially away from home, but as we saw against Bournemouth it's very much Plan A for Dyche and I don't see it changing. It'll likely keep us up but will also firmly cement us as a bottom half, maybe bottom quarter side, which isn't good in the long term.

It’s basically just big oil

But also anyone who would want Dyche fired now for Graham Potter.
It’s been a poor season for Potter - firstly for being fired at Chelsea (and as much as they like to hire and fire, I think most people would have agreed with their decision to get rid) and secondly his replacement at Brighton doing better, having lost two of their betters players in the summer. Overall it’s not been the best season for him to cement his growing reputation. Leicester or going abroad seems about the right fit for him.

I agree that’s why I said im all for what dyche brings at present. We need to get to the new stadium in a stable position League wise and in a better financial position. Also need to have a professional board running the off field operations. Once that is all done, we can then reassess are options moving forward.

I guarantee that people will get sick of low block, low possession football before the madhouse that is Everton football club's executive is sorted out. I hope I'm wrong but I've got a bad feeling about next season. The relationship between the fans and the club is dreadful but I fear it could yet deteriorate further. I don't even recognise this club any more.

You could be right but the then problem will they be with those fans who don’t realise where we are currently. It’s no good seeing fans on tv or media saying we are Everton. What does that even mean?. We have been pathetic as a footballing club for years. Change is Needed and yes it will take time of course it will, the damage to the club has been happing for a decade if not more internally. It won’t be fixed over night it will take a few years if I’m honest and that’s best case scenario. The only goal right now that matters is the ship is steadied by dyche by whatever means that is beneficial to the welfare of the club. It’s a miracle that we have managed to stay in the the league the last 2 seasons. Get the club stable!. Then worry about playing like prime barca after that.

I think for at least next season we'll get a chance to catch our breath.

Those clubs coming up from the Championship look like muck to me. At least two will be relegated. And for my money Wolves look a poor bet for next season. They dont score, aren't going to be able to spend, and the whole thing hinges on Lopetegui being happy...which looks unlikely. And B'mouth under O'Neill will be vulnerable too. Forest will take the drop again, maybe as soon as next season.

Just getting a couple of forwards in and strengthening our FB situation will ensure we keep ahead of that lot.
Yup. As bad as we have been, I am really encouraged by what the manager got out of the players he had. As you know, I don't spare our players criticism, but nobody could deny the sheer effort and heart these players showed in the last few weeks when their backs were well and truly against the wall. Last-minute goals against Spurs, Chelsea, and Wolves, battling away draws at Forest and Leicester when the pressure was at its highest pitch, and gritty desire to see off Leeds and Bournemouth when the need was greatest. I havent even mentioned the miracle of Brighton. The manager deserves unbelievable credit for getting that out of those players - especially as that was achieved largely without a centre-forward or full backs.

A couple of judicious signings in key areas will go a long way to giving us a real go at respectability next season. That's not to underestimate the huge job ahead - a complete rebuild - but I have seen enough to trust the manager to begin that long process competently. He won't rebuild in a summer, but he will improve us, in my view, and buy time to continue the rebuild.

Luton, Sheffield United, and Burnley are not exactly powerhouse Premier League mainstays. All will likely struggle next season. Bournemouth, Forest, and Wolves are no better than us. Who knows what West Ham will do when they sack Moyes. That could go either way. And there's always a chance that a Brentford or Brighton will return to Earth with a bang if they fall prey to the vultures over the summer.

Next season promises more difficulty, but we start it with a proper manager rather than a charlatan. That's got to be worth a six-point start over last season.

If we win more than we lose, nobody will care at all.
Honestly I’ve enjoyed the Dyche system when it worked possibly more than any boss since Martinez when he made it work season 1.

For the first time in years (possibly Allardyce) we’ve not looked like conceding every time we’re defending. However, and very differently to Allardyce, when we get the ball we go forward with pace and power and commit numbers into the opposition box.

We’ve not had a good enough squad for years to play ‘we’ll score more than you’ football - see how that eventually worked out for Leeds - so this measured but still exciting going forward approach is all good with me.

For all their plaudits, it’s effectively the same style the RS played. Solid defence and high running trying to get the ball in the box quickly and effectively and I didn’t hear their fans complaining about style of play when they were winning every week
