Got a Moyes feel about him. It wont be pretty and maybe the club have beaten me down so much im subconsciously accepting it. But im pleased he's the Everton manager for the upcoming season. He'll probably annoy me a fair bit but i can live with that.
Think he's the perfect man for the job right now
Won't whinge about finances
Won't run away
Will get on with it
Will keep us up

The "free flowing money" was certainly there.
For that we have to give Moshiri / Usmanov credit.

Nobody could have predicted the sad Russian invasion of Ukraine , and hence the cutting off of a major finance source (allegedly).

However , the next questions relate to where the money was spent / wasted , and why the revenue income was never increased despite the likes Carlo / James being with us.

Step forward , our benign benefactor and leader Chairman Bill , and his cast of performing clowns, also known as the Board.

We all knew about the lack of resources but to read it in black and white is really depressing when the rest of the division have no such restraints.
I truly hope the protests resume. Not just we are penniless like a 2nd tier Turkish club but because we have had no such depressing info from Saint Bill, Moshiri, The board or Prentice. What does that latter chancer actually do apart from repost videos from the Everton stadium channel or post very occasional transfer videos. Even they are depressing with the doubtful quality of our transfer business.

Making excuses for his paymasters again, he’s starting to bore me a little. It’s equivalent to Chairman Bills “Good times” nonsense.

The fans rallied the last two seasons to drag the squad over the line, in the absence of a owner, chairman and board of directors who declared war on us - we don’t need telling to pull together, thanks Sean.

I also don’t need telling the reality of the situation we are in, I’ve lived it.

Yes, we’ve spent and wasted a lot of money, and yes we’re skint now so we can’t go and buy whoever we want for mad cash, but we’ve got a thinner squad than last seasons and need some reinforcements or injuries will do for us.

Hopefully he can galvanise the players we have again to get us over the line of 40 points ASAP - that’s what he should be focusing on, not telling us what we already know and to pipe down and leave mr chairman and the owner alone by making excuses for them.

Reminds me of Benitez...not seeming to comprehend that we can sell squad players to generate funds.
I didnt get that from his quote. I think the problem is the players he wants to move aren't particularly wanted by others.

Sure Gray is generating some interest but if we can't replace him we cant let go a player who could be needed.
Would you sell Branthwaite???
Who wants Gomes/Gbamin/Iwobi/Alli
Would you sell DCL?
Thats the problem, to get reasonable funds in we need to give up quality, which we don't have an excess of.

We have a threadbare squad as it is.

I didn't mind it. I don't think he's covering the paymasters at all . He is saying things are tough, sure we dont need him to tell us that but he is being honest. If anything I think he was having a bit a pot shot at them for wasting the cash leaving us in this mess.

In terms of first team talent that is likely to contribute to us staying up it is threadbare.

How many solid offers, and offers that would satisy us. Perhaps those enquiries turn into sales but to say he's unaware of selling to raise funds to buy is a bit silly.

Its almost like we need buyers before we can sell.

Im not defending anybody and no doubt there will be sales/loans out, but I always think its a bit strange that people think it will always happen when we want.

So another preseason in the books where we spent no time trying to get better at playing football matches before they count
What does getting better entail? I mean the manager did seem to try different systems and players.

An injury blighted preseason with very little in the way of new faces.

Its going to be a long season if we cant get some new players in for sure.

Can only go off links.

But @Goat 's squad thread shows, its not threadbare.
