I think he'll do alright here.

Coady and Tarks will enjoy his set up as will DCL if he can keep fit.

Even if we go down we'll have an experienced Championship manager to try get us back up and he'll likely be on reasonable wages.

Thing is comparing his Burnley record is pointless its Burnley they don't have any money and he did a great job there for 95% of the time. Yes I would prefer progressive football but this isn't an ideal situation is it. Who do you trust in a fight?

He may have gone away from Burnley and reflected and improved himself.

I get the defensive structure and stability, sound. The main concern is at the other end, to be fair our forwards are the most creative or clever; so is it hoof ball and pick up the second ball and build from there?

It’ll be a death sentence if he sets up ultra defensive and look to snatch a goal at home. The crowd will eat him, confidence in the team will go.

Finally, how does kopite Kev fit into all this. He’s trying to implement a coaching philosophy, I’m sure their views are not alligned

This is precisely true., although I think he'll get a pass on that in the next home game given the opposition.

That's literally only seemingly happened in the last week though.

We are crap. This isn't a decent squad not trying like they didn't for Silva, for example. This is genuinely a rubbish team.

There's 18 games left. Lampard, with less time in the window, had more 4 points when he was appointed last year. He got 6 wins and 2 draws. Dyche needs to better that, which in theory if he's such a better manager, he should be able to. 7 wins, 3-4 draws. A tough ask but that's the job.

Not sure I agree mate.

Watching our 2 midfields Onana and Gana play with no discipline or special awareness is terrifying….they are international players, both played in the world cup, 1 was getting MOM again Real Madrid n the CL.
They are NOT rubbish players at all, they just need a system and individual instructions, like moat of our team do.

Yes some players don’t look good enough and we lack attackers, but we could win more points by just being more solid and together, and that’s Dyche for me.

Given our current predicament, I think he’s the best man for the job.
What time can we expect the ‘this is a massive club, I’d like to thank the board etc’ speech

Conceding goals is the major issue of late.

Bielsa was honest enough to say he cant do this job of keeping us up in the time he needed to unpack his ideas.

Dyche is the realistic option...and we need to get weaving on players in.
Our last 8 league games has delivered 2 points
  • 14 conceded - 7 of these in 2 matches I may add (1.75 a game conceded)
  • 4 scored (1 every 2 games)
  • 26 shots on target (3 a game)

We have the ability to score or create more chances, we win 3 of them

Yeah I understand that and I’m not exactly over the moon myself.
My point is; The boards destruction of the club is not Dyche’s fault, there’s quite a few on his back already talking about style of football and future visions and stuff. We haven’t played nice football for 20 years and the only priority right now is to stay in the division.
We can still sack him at the end of the season like we did Sam, but saying that we wouldn’t be in this position now if we had kept Sam.
I’m one of them who doesn’t care how we play, it’s about results. We are employing a man who oversaw four wins in thirty. Bizarre.

Lampard had lost his head but the players were playing for him, maybe not after the S'ton game when the bust-ups supposedly happened.

We were solid and together at the start of the season - in a sense, we gave up shots but got away with it, that's what Dyche teams do too - but couldn't attack because the players weren't good enough.

So we need new players but I'm not sure it's going to be enough. Dyche will have to grind out the points. It's a tough ask.
