2022/23 Sean Dyche

I think if we’re being totally honest, Dyche is a better fit to work with this current group of players we have than Bielsa. Bielsa himself acknowledges that he can’t work with them. Why they are the two options though, only our wonderful owner knows.

If we’d sacked Lampard when he should’ve been sacked, then maybe we could’ve got Bielsa as well as the 5 or 6 new signings he needed, but we’ll never know.
Bielsa has won nothing of note apart from the Championship. His win % is nothing to write home about either. At least Dyche knows this league well. It's a sensible appointment

On the plus side, improvement on Lampard
On the minus, his record is trending downwards

Those dates aren't in order

To be fair loads of people said that about Allardyce, but ultimately he achieved what was necessary at the time.
Problem with dyche is that he never really had any expectations especially when at Burnley. He knew the squad was one of the worst in the division for many years there and so no real expectations that he needed to survive in the premier league. He had a free shot every year and yes some years he overachieved which is easy when there is nothing or very little expected of you. At everton, survival would be the minimum at first, and eventually top half of the table. That's the main concern with him. Can he deliver when more is expected of him.

Again, point missed.

Who scored the other 10 goals for you?
Ashley Barnes got double figures a couple of times.

Andre Gray did in his one season.

And they all cost less than Cenk Tosun, Maupay and some of the other dross you’ve had recently.

I’ll say it again ….. you’re in no position to turn your nose up at Dyche. You’re in an absolute mess and the sooner you realise it the better.

The other thing ….. he’s had the balls to take the job despite that. He’s not asked for two months working with your U21’s first.

Get behind him. It’s your only chance.

Chris Wood got into double figures in the league for us every season bar his last one. About four years on the spin.

Who was the last Everton striker who did that?
I mean, Richie did it in 3 of his 4 seasons here for us. And the one he didn’t get 10 in the league and he got 7, he got 6 in other comps and was played as a winger because DCL was scoring double figures for us as a striker instead.
