i don't understand how the board goes from bielsa to dyche. the two managers are like chalk and cheese. surely if you miss out on bielsa you go for a manager with at least a similar playing style to him?
I doubt it probably actually came down to playing styles in the end, i expect the very brief search was narrowed down to just a few factors.

Premiership Experience:
Championship/Promotion Experience:
Managers that buy into the community not just the club: ( To obviously try and bring the fanbase back together )

Dyche probably got the 'BMD' safety net vote..

We have to stop being in continuous fire-fighting mode. The only way to do that is getting results.

This is a horrendous run we're on but it's just an extension of runs of games in successive seasons under several managers where we just look atrocious and get the corresponding outcome.

It's a tough ask but no manager can succeed writing off entire 7 or 8 game periods, and now longer, where we show the world just how awful we are.

There has to be some base level of results and positive consistency even if it means boring football.

It's results, plain old draws and wins at the ratio of more than once in a blue moon or once a month.

I don't especially care how we get them, not in these times at least.

Not my choice, but if they have made the decision, lets just get on with and stop saying the board are clueless before hes even started.

And just imagine, for 1 second, if we got 6 points from his 1st 2 games.

Unlikely, yes. But anything is possible in football.

We are on a hiding to nothing, so whats left to lose?

Dyche is, allegedly, a Brexiter.

And there are similarities between his appointment and Brexit.

Anyone with an ounce of sense knew Brexit would be a disaster (and it is proving thus at an alarming rate).

But….for the sake of our own well being and the future prospects of our children and grandchildren, we have to hope we were wrong and it turns out to be a success.

Ditto with Dyche.

I can see no upside to appointing this fellow.

I hate the football he plays, I hate that rasping voice, most of all I hate that faux hard man image he tries to portray by standing on the touchline in his shirt sleeves when it is snowing,

What does he think that proves? He just looks like a knob.

We need, IMO, at least six wins and at least as many draws from our remaing 18 games to ensure safety.

I could see us getting a bunch of draws all right but given we have to go to OT, The Pit, Chelsea and Emirates….plus face City, Spurs, Arsenal, Barcodes at home our scope for wins seems very narrow right now.

Because we can’t score goals…and Dyche isn’t renowned for getting many goals.

In short, I do not see Dyche as the saviour many of our friends on here think he will be.

However.

I wish him every success.

Because my general happinesses and peace of mind is to a great extent dependent on how my beloved EFC is doing at any given time,

Ergo I will park my doubts and welcome Mr. Dyche at the Arsenal game next week and wish him every success.

I need to be proven wrong with my misgiving….I desperately want to be proven wrong with my misgivings.

So, good luck Sean (good Irish name always a plus ;))

UTFT

(but please..wear a coat when it is freezing cold)
Just listened to a podcast where I'm pretty sure he said he was a remainer

Also it was the Burnley board that wanted safe signings and preferred British, once the new owners came in he was getting in the likes of Weghorst and Cornet.

I think we are down anyway. The change should have been made after Bournemouth.

Our illustrious board should have had a succession plan in place like all good businesses do.
The board have condemned us with their transfers in the summer and then the lack of transfers this month to attempt to rectify the situation.

I think we just have to shut up and get behind him, coz a fiery but positive Goodison helps a new manager imo.
Agreed conversation who we get is done like it or not I will behind him at the arsenal game and rest of the season, people crying about it still don't go the game then .I will moan about the board outside the ground but support this fella inside we've got to get safe it's all that matters.
