These players don’t deserve a name, they deserve a gravy guzzling ginger.

The deserve to be drilled and regimented, they don’t deserve luxuries.
And what if they down tools and refuse to be "regimented"? All I hear on this forum is how the players down tools, why wouldn't they do that for Dyche?

I think we’re down regardless but this is a hilariously bad appointment. He, like Allardyce with Bolton, had found the club that he fit like a glove and had a period of relative success.

Beyond Burnley he has done NOTHING. He has never shown himself to be the Allardyce style rescuer of doomed teams; quite the opposite, in fact: He got Burnley to a commendable place and then utterly failed to stop their downward slide thereafter.

I hope to god I’m getting vaulted for this come May, but I’m saying this will be a horrible, horrible appointment.

I don’t just mean in terms of managers mate.

You could call sacking Sam after 6 months short sighted though if you wanted, though he probably shouldn’t have been hired and allowed to spend a small fortune for 6 months work in the first place.

Hiring ancelotti (as good as it was) and allowing him to spend a shitload on aging players was short sightedness.

Our record spent on a transfer for a player in his late twenties and in a dying position was short sightedness.

Having 2 candidates with 2 completely conflicting ideologies as our managerial candidates at the most crucial time in our recent history is short sightedness.

(I’m not even going to mention FSW as it will piss me off)
Should I go on?
I think Bielsa was long sighted and our first choice, and the plan was always if he rejects the job to fall back on dyce just for a warm blanket as nobody else will take this joke of a club on.

Short sightedness got us into this state, which again this appointment smacks of.

At the end of the day we didn't have a queue of class managers beating their way to our door. Just like one of our famous attacks we're having to go back to the keeper to try and play it forward again. If we can get a couple of years of stability and some budget then we can hopefully get a more long-term appointment.

I’d have been happier with Bielsa fwiw, but I don’t get the feeling the club have done any kind of due diligence and just act on impulse.

You think they’d have learnt by now with the frequency we change managers.

Nothing we seem to be doing seems to be done with a view to the future (I was all for lampard for this reason fwiw so will concede that)

The most depressing appointment I can recall. Utterly short termist. If it was a 6 month contact with extension if we stay up then maybe...

Bielsa and Dyche are light years apart in playing style. That alone tells us there was no due diligence.

It hasn't though. Teams either play a system that their players can play...or are forced into a system they can't do successfully at this level

Those teams get relegated
There's a reason why there isn't a single team in the league currently playing this kind of football. Not one. Because it doesn't work anymore.

Even managers struggling while trying to play more progressive football know that this is not a viable option.

I think if you look at our squad its hard to argue that they're really suited to any style of play. No matter who's in charge most of the players are going to be shafted into a system that doesn't fit them, because our squad is devoid of logic.

As is frequently pointed out the squad is a Frankenstein's monster constructed by 7 different managers with different idea's. None of our players compliment each other and Dyche doesn't change that more than any other manager would.

We will see how this goes. If Dyche turns things around by all means vault me, rip me to shreds. I would be absolutely ecstatic if I was wrong about this, i get no pleasure from seeing us fail.

I’m certain we don’t mate.
But you can’t tell me they couldn’t have came up with more candidates than Bielsa and Dyche. Other teams in our position have managed.
