My suspicion is the delayed announcement over the weekend about Dyche's appointment is strategic: waste a transfer day on the new manager hullabaloo and then get one player in on the final day...with a side order of "we just couldn't get another over the line in time".
If that happens start accepting we're in the 2023/24 Championship season....even earlier than we would have.

i don’t get caught up on ‘creativity’ in central midfield. Our greatest teams had CM who rarely crossed the half-way line (Kendall/Harvey & Reid/Bracewell) but there was goals and assists all over those teams, even from CB.

Those teams had quality all over the pitch though, this one is lacking quite a lot in almost every department.
Having players to produce a good final ball is pretty important when so many of our players can barely pass it 20 metres.

Football is goals. We all know this, and it’s no coincidence that we’re even worse this season without Richarlison.
It’s absolutely critical we get players who can score if we’re to stand a chance at all.
