This interview changed the way I thought about Dyche. Hoping he’s successful here

Succesfull as in: keep Everton from being relegated. That is his main task. It was the same for lampard but he also wanted hollywood football. Dyche just needs to do what he did at Burnely: Close up shop, play for goalless draws eternally, the odd win here and there and get the points in. I actually think Burnley finished much better than also relegated Watford and Norwich. I realy hope he can avoid regelation, however ugly it might get.

Good appointment by Everton. If you go down he will get you straight back up , or save you from relegation and start getting players that fight for the shirt. Wouldn't surprise me if he went for Ashley Barnes , horrible player but would give Everton some teeth up front.
Just had a night up Liverpool, at Titanic Hotel, scattered my mums ashes close by the new ground, with my brother, an Evertonian. Going to be a relegation scrap to the end, hopefully Southampton, Bournemouth, Wolves, get relegated then my Everton half of the family will be happy.

Comes across well. Mind you, I was saying the same thing about Frank Lampard not soooo long ago...

The bar is really jeffing low here - easiest job Carlo ever had, apparently - so let's see what he can do.
The difference is Dyche is a proven manager and there's waaaaaay more substance to the things Dyche says. He mightnot make you swoon and blush with shallow charm but the footballing substance gives me a semi.

I honestly didn't go down the road of looking into candidates closely because I knew we were ending up here the whole time. But guys like Tedesco and Bordalas who are out of work seem better. Kjetil Knutsen is my let's get crazy option. There are a bunch of guys at smaller clubs in Spain, Germany and elsewhere in Europe that I'd be interested in talking to at the very least.

It's really hard to say. It takes a long time to scout out a manager and I don't know what our plan overall might be. It all has to fit.
It is a bit strange that you mention Bordelas. One of many Spanish managers who have become known through coaching teams with small budgets, and where in the defensive phase you play classic 4-4-2, and otherwise play at low risk.

Kjetil Knutsen plays a classic "Nils Arne Eggen" 4-3-3, which is quite widespread in Norway. But he has done a fabulous job. At the same time, the transition from the Norwegian League to PL is absolutely enormous.

Knutsen is the manager of a club that few people in Norway care about - despite its success - and which has limited interest in the press. Their home ground has a capacity of 8,200 spectators. To go from a club where there is hardly any pressure, which few people care about, to a relegation battle in the PL is madness.

I really am fine. There's nothing to be positive about here. We've fired a terrible manager and made the smallest possible upgrade. It's disheartening. Minimum 6 months more of the club being stuck.

I guess only time will tell.

Maybe it is because I am not a fan who cares all too much about the style of play as long as I am seeing my team win. Yes, it is nice to see free flowing football but some fans have misgivings about what is good football or not. The result is all that matters, if it is done playing great football then superb but I prefer to see effective football.

Is Dyche the person to bring us effective football, only time will tell. From what we know about Burnley, there is a higher chance of that than you are giving him credit for.

In fairness the biggest problem has been creating chances. The team needs a creative player in the middle
Many forget that a good defense will often give teams scoring chances. A good defense often wins the ball, and in many of these cases the opposition will be off balance. Then the ball and the runs must go forward quickly. This is the basis, which Dyche talks about.
To paraphrase someone whose name we shall not mention, a good defense is better than the world's best playmaker.

The problem is that he wasn't manager for the run in
