The context was that he admired the honesty of the players, cos like you say, he hasnt lobbed any blame at anyone. It certainly wasnt "I know better".

Dunno mate, footballers are strange people at times. Perhaps "letting him down" meant they didnt feel able to suggest to him some changes?

Has anyone even laughed? The general consensus seems to be he is a decent but defensive manager who worked under tight constraints so hasn’t been able to show any other way of playing.
And the vaults are pretty good as well. As he had him lumped in with Howe (and we all know his views of Howe) back in 2019 and that appointing him would finish him off.
I said in this thread a few days ago that I wasn't waving a whiite flag with about half a season to go. I don't think anyone is now.
