2 open play goals in about 15 games now.

We are going down on that basis, 1 in 4 under dyche as well ( even that was a mad goal ) the board are horrid.

I just can’t fathom for the life of me how a manager who has lived off 4-4-2 his entire career and even done a tactics video about it, rocks up at Everton and just flat out point blank refuses to let two strikers be on the pitch at the same time.
Would you play 2 up top with this set of strikers

I'd be considering playing 0 strikers except for the rare occasions Calvert-Lewin is available.

Dreadful options. How can any manager possibly get us scoring regularly

Gray as a false 9 for me. How Palace did with Zaha

It’s even more weird considering maupay and simms both will be better playing together than on their own.
I imagine he thinks that he loses too much if he picked both of them over say doucoure/gueye/Iwobi. I’d say we were the better team up to the final third today , would we still have been without three in midfield?

Granted if you had DCL and richarlison for example then it’s a no brainer but simms and maupay just feels like you are doubling on the rubbishness

See people said that after the derby, then we beat Leeds. There’s no ‘bounce’ here, we have a manager who is setting standards and playing an effective system for the players he has.

If we had a finisher, we would have won today, we were well on top for 60 mins but couldn’t put it in. We may have even won at Anfield, was also a close game.

We’ll lose a lot more before the end of the season but Dyche has taken a team who got thrashed by Bournemouth and lost at home to Wolves and Southampton and away to West Ham all of whom were probably the worst teams in the league at the time of playing them to get 6 points from 12. If he keeps that up, we stay up very comfortably.
I have no issue with Dyche. He’s doing a solid job. I have an issue with losing 0-2 to Villa. That’s a disastrous result in ways losing at Anfield isn’t.

Need a reaction now…at Arsenal.

So you’d pick one of them and add a crap midfielder instead? That helps how?
I wouldn't take the Everton job if I were a manager because the players are rubbish

I think we're arguing on here about things that make little difference. No matter what 11 we put out there, our only hope of a result is a fortunate 1 nil. We dont carry a threat and its simply down to a lack of quality. There are no easy solutions and the January window was disastrous

4 centre halves on the bench, Maupay for Simms, Iwobi for Davies. Starting Coady again. He's not helping himself despite the championship standard squad
We were 2 for 2 at Goodison with this side. Why would he change Coady with two clean sheets as well?

Maupay for Simms is hardly a drastic difference either is it? He's gone with the one who at least has top flight experience. It's understandable.

Because despite winning 2 games at home Coady is flat out not good enough and is always a liability.

On the second point why not play both up top when chasing the game? A manager that religiously plays 442 and 2 strikers that are toothless playing on their own takes one off for the other. Not exactly rocket science
