A Calvert-Lewin or even a Chris Wood/Danny Ings type and we don't lose Vs Aston Villa IMO.

The huge issue he'll have is of course if you're team can't score, you're going to struggle to win.

If we go down in any game it feels curtains.

But some people think that we couldn't attract anyone cos the fanbase is toxic and there was nobody about of quality to get that we could afford.

Nothing to do with poor planning and ineptitude from the DoF and Board.

Personally think, any competent striker that fits Dyche's system scores Saturday. Like a Chris Wood.

Absolutely even if we sold Gordon in the beginning of the window and bought wood from Newcastle for half that it would of bolstered our chances to survive. It doesn't help that forest have been hoarding all the average pl attacking players we would usually go for

Given the situation he’s inherited I don’t think we can expect much more than what he is delivering currently. I actually think we played better against Villa than Leeds last week. The pen came at a pivotal time in the game. 1st goal was crucial. If we would have got the 1st goal we had 3 or 4 good opportunities then we take 3 points and I’m sure the feeling on this forum would be polar opposite. We all know the elephant in the room is a striker but we are where we are with that so we’ve got to get on with it. We are defensively more solid, midfield is competing so I’m certainly not throwing in the Towel with 14 games to play. Massive games coming up and everyone is cup final from here on in.
The striker problem is a problem but is ollie Watkins actually all that better than maupay? Both have similar records at Brentford and then similar records in the prem. Issue is Maupay is just awful for us and can't play up front on his own

Watkins has demonstrated he can play as a sole all out striker which maupay never displayed along with the fact maupay isn't compatible with how we play and Watkins fits their system so its difficult to compare

It's kinda strange to think about it but Carlo basically has left a blueprint to play conservative football for dyche , play godfrey and holgate as fullbacks and apply the same approach to tactics that Carlo took when we had massive injuries to our best players , it won't get you top table but it can get us out of relegation

Che Adams would have been a good option for us.
But so many people scoffed at that notion same as wood obviously when you grander ambitions that doesn't suit the narrative but the focus needs to be on survival and depressingly he would offered something we don't have and been a better fit than maupay

Difference is, Carlo had DCL, Richarlison, Gylfi & James at his disposal.

Dyche has Maupay, Simms and Iwobi

I agree over the season he had vastly better options but I'm referring to that period of time later in the season where james, dcl and I even think richie were out for a bunch of games and he went ultra pragmatic we lost some games at low quality teams but did enough to be somewhat competitive

That's what he is and what choice do we have? The players we have aren't capable of much more as we saw under Lamps. I would much prefer progressive footy but we are in the absolute mire, not sure I can blame the manager for a basic set up.
The choice was to back the manager against the board. But the fans got what they wanted, the board got what they wanted from the fans and both will get the relegation they deserve from it. Probably without even being remotely favoured to come straight back up again.
