Thing is I would love a more progressive style but that takes investment, quality recruitment, time and good coaching and midway through a season and we currently have fifteen points trying to play a so called more progressive style that wasn't effective. We are in a massive hole, ultimately it's much easier to set up to be hard to beat and be more direct and fast pressing at home with our current squad, than it is to implement Bielsa ball right now if Bielsa comes in (as much as I am tempted by the idea)it's a total gamble it could work but the odds given our squad strengths and the time aspect are on a carcash where we are even more open. I'd give him a six month contract with the option of another year if he keeps us up.

Being honest if it is to be him so be it, I’ll get behind him just like I have done every Everton manager. I hope he can show he has more to his management style than just 442 and get it long otherwise he won’t last. I dont want a 6 month appointment, if we appoint him I would like him to build something for a few years as we need stability.

He wouldn’t have been my first choice but we are were we are so stay up this season and go from there. Him being the manager leading us out at BMD would be the most Everton thing ever though.
Me too.

That’s all we can do as supporters.

Anything else is counter-productive.

Whoever comes in we just need someone to organize the players. Play them in their proper positions and make sure they know their role. Simple things coz lampard has wrecked those players confidence.Things like passing forward and attacking teams at pace especially at home coz thats where we will get most points. 2 strikers on the pitch. Make sure those players know they need to work or they are out the team. Lets just keep our eyes on getting safe.

Get him in. He's got ten whole days to boot some sense into this shower.
They'll be at Arsenal's throats like rabid turtles.
I meant wolverines.

That's the kind of person we should be going for. Someone to build a philosophy around and someone we can stick with if we go down, knowing that we are thinking longer term. We are basically down because of the poor decisions of the past. But this is another poor decision which will compound it.

Dyche's defensive 'football' is a disaster on 2 fronts. 1) We need at least 7 wins from the remaining 18 games. We've also played most of the weaker teams at Goodison already, which means saftey first football is no use.

2) These days it is mostly the most attacking teams that get promoted out of the Championship. The old-school crap football types really struggle as ignis so competitive. So Dyche would be a disaster there too.
I agree, I suppose it depends on what you want EFC to do next. Do you want the strategy to put every effort into avoiding relegation or would you prefer to look at it more long term and get the right manager in now that will build something that is sustainable? The problem with going for the build for the future approach is that it would probably mean a lot of pain in the process. Relegation and sticking with the manager and changing style and philosophy take time. Would the fans at Goodison have the patience for this? If I was making the decision, it would be Dyche to try and stay in the PL but if u fail then u have problems in the Championship and for the next number of years. If u go for someone like Corboran then the pain probably comes sooner but the rewards in 3 or 4 years could be much better.

Who do you want? And don't say Rafael back as that ship has sailed
Honestly, I don't think anyone saves us now, Bill and Farhad have assured our demise, they acted too late (and entirely in character). So, in that vein we should go for a young manager with a clear vision that is in tune with the DoF and try our hardest to avoid relegation. If we don't, however, don't sack the new guy, let them remake the club in the championship. No more Hollywood signings, no more good old pros. Clear the place out and start again. We've got to get off this death spiral. Dyche is just more chaos, different style again, 3 or 4 more players that don't fit with the players we already have. What's the point of that.

What even was Lampard's style because it looked a mess to me
