I'd suggest trying! I agree we're a lot better and now he needs to experiment with how we can find ways to create chances and score. Unfortunately this is not something he has ever done.
I agree, partly. I think we're making chances (not enough), however, like with Lampard, we look unable to do enough to get it in the net. It's the thing killing us.

Simms isn't the answer, so I don't know why he isn't trying Gray; ultimately, he's our top scorer this season, and Iwobi isn't a winger either.

But, I've already mentioned that Dyche was quite rigid with his selection while at Burnley, so I feel that the likelihood of a mix-up is lower than we'd hope.

If we continue to plod on with Maupay up front and swinging balls into the box, we're guaranteed to go down.

The point is a simple one mate - managers have an impact.

I'm convinced Dyche being appointed earlier would have increased our chances. As would of course, signing any actual attacking ability.

I think with me in charge (you'll be my Ian Woan assistant) I'd get this team out of the relegation zone IF we had another striker and creative player.

Dyche could be appointed with 7 games left and I'd fancy him to get the wins IF we had another striker and creative player.

The fact we haven't got either and I'm literally praying on an hourly basis (basically every time I go the bog) for DCL to be fit shows how desperate our situation.

Now, somehow Dyche has to find a formula that gets us goals, not just looking like scoring but actual goals. How he does that without an actual proper (fit) striker I don't know.

We're sure Simms isn't the answer? I'd like to see him get a proper go, and no what happened at Anfield wasn't that. The issue of course is Simms is 6'3 so Dyche will ask him to play like he's Chris Wood when that isn't his game.

Dyche is a limited manager who doesn't adapt and we all should have known this. The problem is some of his initial ideas aren't working and we're a team that needs someone to try and work out ways to manufacture some attack with some cleverness in the setup.

He carries on the form/results in his first 5 for the rest of the season and we stay up.

That offers some hope when you consider in that first 5 was Arsenal X2 and Liverpool away.
Putting it like that does raise the optimism. It’s always “that’s it, we’re down,” every time we go 1 nil down, then it feels do-able again after 48 hours to cool off.

How it looks changes depending on your mood. We just cannot score so we’ve had it, and yet we are creating way more chances and having more shots on target than under Frank, maybe it will click and be fine?

We can’t stop conceding goals, and yet we are defending better, we just keep making individual brain farts, if we stop those maybe it will be fine?

Would just be nice to get 2 wins on the bounce and do a mini Newcastle and watch the scrap from above. Then burn the whole club to the ground once we are mathematically safe. 🔥

Im almost certain Simms isnt the answer.

I'm not basing it purely on the RS fixture, but from what I saw of him when he was at Sunderland and the general views from Mackems I know.

He may go on to be a decent player, but I don't think we can rely on him, now. Surely, if he was ready or suitable, Dyche would be playing him over Maupay?

Maupay isn't the answer either, yet as I've said I do have some sympathy for him because we're playing him in a position and a system that doesn't suit him.

He might be rubbish too, but he's not a lone striker, he isn't suited for counters (runs like in cement) and doesn't have the stature for crosses into the box.

Genuinely, I'd rather we had Onana or Keane up front as a lone striker than Maupay as it's like playing without a striker.

With hindsight, Lampard should have gone before the WC or at least straight after this. We may (well, likely will) have picked up more invaluable points...

... and, perhaps more importantly, got a striker in as I suspect the instability behind the scenes played a huge part in our window being such a disaster.

I'd have had the cart horse that's Weghorst over what we've got now. Why they kept on with Lampard is another discussion...

Your infatuation with a fellow grown man is bizarre. Just admit, he stinks.
My take on Iwobi for the entire season is he's an average at best player when used correctly but as we do not have basically anyone who fits that description there is no reason to not use him correctly and put him wide right where he is a very bad player. Just put him in the middle and live with the flaws since the good parts are things that we need and that no one else does.
