I don't agree with their decision in appointing him in the first place. I disagreed with hiring him because I knew he wasn't good enough

He met the objective of keeping us in the league. Do you not appreciate that?

This year he was dogmatic and showed in his inexperience, the hope was as a young manger he could develop here and build a young team, which takes us back to your initial point of alleging lads backed him because of a celebrity cult, which I think is mostly untrue.

As a club we need consistency and stability more then anything, it’s actually the most logical thing in the world to hope a young manager can develop and do it here - especially after choosing and investing in him, the squad and the unity he brought to the club in adverse circumstances.

It’s a lot broader then you were right, because you don’t like him and other lads aren’t because they were taken in by celebrity. Don’t agree with that take at all.

Ultimately, it’s awful for the club that another manager has failed, we’re a tough and tougher gig to take on with every passing manager. It’s ruined the club.

I do like the way that he leaves a person in no doubt whatsoever if they have asked what he thinks is a stupid question. He’s more than capable of trotting out the same repetitive cliches each presser, sometimes a bit annoyingly, but then comes out of if his shell to slap down anything pointless. That new BBC fella has not had a good start covering Everton. Sounds terrified of Dyche 😂

I like the style of football. I think it suits us.

I think it suits the situation we are in. Question mark for me comes when there are situations where teams sit back in front of us (this isn't a new problem btw, so not of Dyche's making), and I think that's probably only solved in the transfer market. If we stay up this season, that's an issue (one of a few) I'd hope is addressed in the summer.

What I think suits us from the point of view of culture is a fast-paced, direct style. That doesn't need to mean "long ball", but whilst we warmed to them as people at times, the likes of Martinez and Lampard tried to implement styles which don't really suit the nature of our support.

What we've seen from Dyche has been fairly effective and has largely got the crowd onside, but it'd need to be adapted a little next season if we don't want to end up in the lower reaches again IMO (again, not really his problem, more of a personnel one)

Important to always keep in mind that our front 4 are McNeil, Gray, Iwobi and Doucoure.

If we could add players that contribute an additional 30 goals, we'd probably be looking at top 8 at least.

If Branthwaite brings his Eredivisie form up a level, Onana stays and with his 1st full preseason in 4 years goes up a gear, Patterson remains fit and Garner makes a CM spot his own...

...theres a lot of potential already in the squad.

Keep the same style, add quality players that contribute goals and hope our young players improve.

I wouldnt be surprised if the pendulum swings in our favour.

Benitez manager ppg was 1, FL’s was 1.1 in the year we stayed up but 0.78 overall, SD over first 9 games is 1.3 - this number of games represents a quarter of a season having taken over a confidence level on its knees, having played some of the top placed teams during that time and without a recognised striker, all through planning and hard graft.

A full season’s run rate on these numbers would see us on 51 points which is slightly shy of the average for the last five or six years and by a lot higher than last and this season…..I think the medium term future looks optimistic with Sean as long as we get through this season unscathed
