2022/23 Sean Dyche

Sean Dyche of course started his career at Nottingham Forest under Cloughie.

He never played a game for the first team though, but i'm a fan of managers who come from the Cloughie footballing academy.

I just think someone of that particular style of management, was badly needed here to kick a few backsides. It's quite obvious that Frank Lampard, was running some sort of Butlins style holiday camp at the end there.

What are his politics? odd no-one has mentioned it....

As for his politics, Dyche is a remainer – though he somewhat surprised me in naming Margaret Thatcher in his “six-a-side team to save the world”.
“When I was growing up, she was just such a big figure, doing so much, never off the news and I thought my God, that is some woman, in the world as it was then, you must have something special to be doing that job the way you do it.”

Interesting the people who label Lampard "Tory Frank" as a stick to beat him with are the same who are right in Dyche's back pocket, even calling him the new Joe Royle and his Dogs Of War 2.0

Growing up playing for the same local football team, albeit 1 age group apart, never thought I would end up supporting a massive club Sean now manages! Only regret is that we could have got him many weeks earlier. Cmon mate, save us and your face is going on the local Weather spoons 🤣
years ealier

It seems advantageous to have a coach with red hair.

He wants to play Thatcher in a six-aside team at a Soccer Space Jam battle to save the world?

I’d have put Maradona in that role, personally.

But to each their own.

To be fair I never thought the Tory Frank was particularly hostile. We all know at least one Tory that we think is alright but they are, you know, a Tory…
End of the day people tend to vote who their peers and parents vote for… franks a millionaire, type a personality, southerner with a private school education - socialism isn’t really attractive to these people.

With Dyche, you can recognise that thatcher was a key world figure at the time he was growing up. A lot of working class families benefited from policies that encouraged hard graft to lift themselves in a middle class home owners. It clearly didn’t work for everyone and my dad would hate to hear me say anything positive about Thatcher.
Article suggests he was a remainer, positive about feminism, and a ally to gay footballers. So he isn’t on the lunacy wing of the party.

End of the day, worklife and politics are separate.

More importantly is he still a scotch egg now we love him?
