I almost stopped loving you over that

It’s a good job you’re a loveable rogue
It's just typical the one time I finally got a prediction right, that it was probably my most negative take ever. But unfortunately it was also pretty obvious we would not be able to score enough goals, it wasn't exactly hard to predict.

I was definitely not

If our keeper had not been on top form it could have been 5 nil or worse

Dyche went aggressive with the 442 and a high line and it was exactly the sort of tactics that got Lampard sacked.

I think a huge compliment today was how much Utd were on it and motivated and they were, they were very good.

They have better players, high quality players in depth, its Old Trafford, it’s one of the toughest games of the season.

They played well, they were better, they deserved it. Thats football some days.

It was more a hybrid than 442, with and without possession, with Demari supporting Simms.

I could see where he was coming from, you can get at Utd, especially at home as they will push forward, that will space behind the line and you trust your defenders to defend.

Compleatly different from Lampard, we attacked aggressively through the lines rather the passively and as usual had no cutting edge. Also unlike Lampard we controlled parts of the game - Utd are high quality though - they were the better team - sometimes you hold your hands up and it’s just that.

We gave them the freedom to play and left acres of space. Wasn't very smart.

Me too mate, I just remember them peppering our goal and Pickford being outstanding.

I couldn’t post 29 gifs of their attempts so just went with basic figures

Yeah but Pickford part of the team - therefore if he’s playing well - we’re performing well, Utd are good mate, they deserved it today.

OT is one of the toughest games of the season, your always going to be under the kosh and lucky to get anything - we gave it good wellie up to their second, we’re fighting, looking teams in the eye and not standing off teams, teams have to put in a performence to beat us - Utd did that today. But I wasn't disappointed by the shift our players put in - bar Iwobi like.

That the game mate, their better, their a very good team, they have quality, their better then us and they proved it - they had to fight to do it - so fair play.

Nope, we need to be very disciplined and compact and not allow them space. We set up exactly how they wanted, it really baffled me to see.

We can't go out and try and match them for quality and expect things to go well. Our defensive shape was non-existent in the first half.

Yeah fair enough, opinion and all that, obviously an alternative at this stage has the benefit of hindsight.

Tactics didnt work today, Ten Haag had Dyche number.

TBH the tactics weren’t all that different to how we’ve been playing recently, Ten Haags watched us, we do hold a high enough line with the ball in most games and a lower block without - not sure we changed that much today tactically to recent results. Ten Haag just exploited it and the players had the quality to exploit it.

Besides neither goal came from the high line one was when we were compact in a low block the second was a brain fart.

Personally I’m happy with how the players performed, Utd are good as I say sometimes it’s that simple.

Fulham went there 2 weeks ago and absolutely bossed them

You’re massively overplaying it. We created our own issues, everyone can see it bar you apparently

I can see why he was reluctant to start Gray when he came, hopefully he never plays him on the wing or midfield again.
Either leave him upfront or don’t play him, never seen someone lose the ball so much from goal scoring opportunities.
