We have missed Doucoure acutely since his bizarre straight red against spurs.

What could the gaffer have done differently in regard to the midfield?
Replaced him with a midfielder rather than going 442, bringing Maupay into the side etc.

We have been totally overran and left acres of space in the last 2 games. 442 does not work unless you have top level midfielders and 2 very good strikers. His tactical set up in the last 2 games has been as bad as anything we saw under previous managers.

I'm not a football expert but if you match up 2 v 3, against teams with better midfield players than us, then you are going to struggle. I see nothing to suggest he is good enough to manage at this level.

Pickford

Patterson
- Keane - Tarkowski - Mykolenko

Iwobi
--- Davies --- Garner --- Gana --- McNeil

Gray

For me, that should've been the starting lineup, or at least much closer to it.

It's clear that we missed Doucoure & Onana but in their absence we just needed to consolidate the midfield with bodies. Have Gana & Davies do the busy work in front of the back four and have the rest of them get the ball up to the edge of their box/work some free-kicks or corners. Could've then had Simms off the bench later on.

Neil Maupay starting a football match hasn't worked for us at all outside of that one game against West Ham earlier in the season when he scored and that's about it..

Spot on. Should never change it to 4-4-2 we don’t have the players to do that.

Why change something that was working.

Some of our fans just don't get it. I don't think they ever will. If you haven't figurit out at this point then you deserve the club as it is. How can some of you still not see how irrelevant the manager is at Everton Football Club. They just act as well paid fall guys protecting both the players and the owner/board. Until our fans collectively wake up and finally accept this, nothing will ever change. We'll be in the Conference League getting fisted 5-0 at home to Dorking Wanderers and sacking three to four managers a season while the clubs hierarchy remains in place continuing to destory what's left of the club and the same clowns will be wittering on about the current patsys win/loss ratio because you have the attention span and memory of a goldfish!

That second half was very worrying. I understand the players on the bench (and a few in the starting 11) are dross but to stand and do nothing except whisper to your 2 coaches and watch Fulham absolutely destroy us with the same tactics for 45 minutes yet do nothing to prevent it isn’t inspiring in the slightest.
I’ve been impressed up until now (Utd were excellent last week, the best they’ve played in months). Saturday was an absolute shocker from all involved, must be better Sean.

Davies should never play for Everton again. His head is somewhere else as is DCL. Keane is not a good CB though and I wouldn't play him if Mina or Coady are available.

Maupay was hit and miss at Brighton but we need goals. He needs a chance to develop a partnership with Gray. Chopping and changing does us no good.

Can’t go in on him yet, he’s done a sound job until the last couple of games.

The injuries and suspensions did for him, and he got it wrong with formation and selection, but we’ve scraped through the bottom of the barrel when 4 what should be first teamers are missing - onana, doucure, Coleman and DCL.

Saying that, I would have preferred him picking a few of the young lads to come in over maupay, mykolenko etc.

Patterson, simms and maybe mills should have started in the 451/4231.

Sick of the over paid wastrels getting 18 chances each to screw us over - we know they aren’t good enough, was hoping dyche would have seen that already - he doesn’t have the luxury of time to keep trying failed footballers in our current situation.

If injuries or suspensions hit stick the kids in - I would get more fired up by that than maupay jogging about doing naff all.
