Yes.

I said this the other day - he doesn't seem bothered if we stay up or not.

Even if that's part of his process, to ensure focus and calm nerves, it doesn't fill me with belief that he's got what it takes for the fight.

Where's the call to arms?
I can point to 3.5m reasons why you’re almost certainly wrong.

That said, maximum effort while not getting attached to outcome is surely the modern, zen way of managing, no?

I didn’t say he’s not bothered, I said he doesn’t seem bothered.

As I said, it may well be the approach he thinks best.

He knows the players better than me, and that might be right for them.

I can only speak as a fan, and I have to say he’s not energising me.

Note for the psychoanalysts amongst us:

He has contempt for mandatory press conferences like an Allardyce or Koeman did. Pretty sure that isn’t a reflection of his engagement or personality behind closed doors with team.
I'm sure you're right - I certainly agree that he doesn't enjoy press conferences - but they are a significant means through which he communicates with the fanbase.

It feels like he can't see beyond the immediate journalistic audience.

He could be doing more to sound bothered for the fans' sake. He is in a position to help galvanise support, but he isn't really doing that.

So, in theory, you're saying you'd rather have a guy to energise the supporters, a la Brown Shoes, rather than a guy who is focused on getting the best results on the pitch?

I don't have a dog in this fight by the way. But to me, the most important of the two is getting results, and however that happens best, so be it

Does the support need galvanising though? I wouldn't have thought so. I get where you're coming from but it just seems like being negative for being negative's sake really.

There also a counter argument to my stance that he needs to play the media better as it will give him and the team a little more goodwill if he does. Meh, press conferences are just superficial to me now.

No, I'm not saying that.

As I said, it may well be the right approach for the players. But the players aren't his sole audience.

These press conferences are supposed to be for the fans, ultimately - and I don't think he's using them optimally.

Yeah, Dyche's are the least interesting I can remember. I've blocked out most of the Benitez reign, maybe I felt similar about his, but I do think Dyche could be using them better.

I'm telling you how he's making me feel, that's all.

I may be representative of many, or of few.

I want to feel positive after listening to him, and I don't.
And i'm replying to you, that's all. It's not a personal attack, i'm just saying it seems like moaning for the sake of moaning. If he comes in all smiles and cracking jokes people complain he's not bothered, if he's tetchy people say the pressure's got to him etc, it just feels like there's enough for us to be bothered about without people taking the manager to task for not having the exact demeanour they'd prefer in his press conferences.
