I don’t think that is true. Fat Sam knew the majority of goals had to come from open play and that the game for him was all about winning first or second balls in opposition territory. Set pieces were an extra that could decide right games.
Dyches tactics seem to be that all our goals should come from set pieces. There is none of the aggression of a fat Sam team. He is probably the last manager to come in and actually buy players to play a system and fit in.
We would probably be safe already if we had hired fat Sam.

He was doing alright ish until that Fulham game. He got it horribly wrong with his setup and starting maupay / changed the entire mood of our battle and has proceeded to leaving us needing an unlikely win somewhere.
If we were three points better off we would already be in 16th with a game in hand. An all round terrible performance in a game that was so important for us.

It's what worried me about him before we signed him. He values a point as much as a win at times and when you're in this position that's dangerous.

Personally I think his style of football is outdated. The days of parking the bus and conceding possession, hoping to nick one from a set piece to avoid relegation are a thing of the past, it’s why Allardyce doesn’t get employed anymore. I don’t think that style would get us out of the Championship either. No one is coming up playing physical percentage football anymore. Would like to be proven wrong, just my take on it.

I do agree. I think there are some components of his style that do have a place like his high press but the trying to nick a goal stuff is a reason we are in the mess we are.

It would've worked if we had sacked lampard after the Bournemouth game, or the other bournemouth game, or the wolves game or... you get the point. But it seems too little to late now as it has no margin for error. If we go down I'd rather a Bielsa type to at least make it semi enjoyable
