2022/23 Sean Dyche

Sean Dyche had a higher win percentage at Burnley than Graham Potter had at Brighton, to put some perspective into it. Is he as good a manager as Potter I am not sure but I don't think he's nearly as bad as some of you are making out!
That will probably take into account 2 seasons in the Championship where they came up. Would be interested to see PL win percentage side by side. If you factor in as well the fact that Potter played good stuff and he has laid the foundations for what's going on now (progresion) then the comparison is ridiculous.

It has no doubt been pointed out by others, but good grief, no other club in the world would get down to those 2 as a shortlist. You couldn't possibly find managers with more divergent styles.

The Board are genuinely lunatics
It's muck or nettles.
How could it come down to that?

In terms of premier league only with Burnley and Brighton respectively I think it’s about 28% for both of them .

Are you his agent or something? Brownhill is okay, not quality. Defour was okay for Liege he wasn't at Burnley. And Westwood really isn't a very good player. McNeil is genuinely one of the worst footballers I have ever seen. Even Dyche benched him.

You can say my 'mates down the pub' all you like but I have had the misfortuneof watching Burnley on many occasion. A couple of times live and often on television and they were horri le to watch. None of those players are quality. They would not have spent so long at dross like Burnley if they were. The way you rate them makes me think you must be a big fan of the extremely poor players that litter our squad.

Hahaha I'm not, I just don't like the lazy stereotype - I actually genuinely would prefer Bielsa if I felt that Everton were capable of matching his demands over the course of say the next 2 and a half years (or in the much shorter term, signing the 3/4 players he'll require to keep us up)

Ultimately though Bielsa has massive reservations about joining the club and wants an absolute mega fortune, whereas Dyche in my mind has demonstrated he's a much better, versatile coach than many give credit for - I've found some of the football Burnley play, especially once they had consolidated in the Prem, to be far better than people make out. That's both from watching them smash Everton and other teams. Clearly agree to disagree though; I'm sure both of us agree that the squad needs improving ;)

Truely terrible! How did we give him.the job in the first place and how were the fans OK with it.
The Fans that were ok with it were ok because it wasn't Benitez. We gave him the job because it was our board who made that decision and they had previously thought it was the right idea to appoint Benitez who was also a truly terrible manager for Everton

Wait. You are lauding Kompany for his work in the championship but seemingly disregarding Dyches championship seasons..

If you look back at what I said, the Championship has changed. The days of the likes of Dyche, Bruce and Hughton style-sides doing well have gone. Those kinds of sides and managers seem to struggle now. It is the attacking, front-foot managers that get their teams out of the division.

Dyche's last experience of the Championship was a long time ago and like much to do with him, that approach would be found wanting and outdated.

What proof do you have of this though?

His stats don't back this up at all.

You cant just go, oh well he did well at this team so he'll automatically do well at our team.

Koeman was better then dyche he failed here. Ancelotti was miles better then dyche and he did a average here.

Dyche is a poor manager and will be another terrible appointment.

Ancelotti was the best we've had a for a looooong time..
