It's going to be selective to a degree because I don't have access (nor the will) to go through every game to show you consistent examples of Burnley playing on the front foot. This is the best I can do given limited highlights (goals). I don't think it's excessively selective though - as said, I've shown you a stretch of about 8 games, half of which Burnley scored as a result of a positive, forward thinking high press - certainly something most fans don't associate them with. Not sure how else I can demonstrate that the 'dinosaur' claim is false outside of this broad method.

Re: the excuses - I think it's unfair to say they didn't progress the playing style - lots of technical quality added into the side like Defour, Tarkowski, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil (form fallen off a cliff for us but Burnley played to his very strong left foot).

The constraints above him should be taken into account though - they had zero cash and a board reluctant to sign off on foreign signings (because they saw them as riskier - ask your mates what they think of the Burnley board pre-takeover). Eventually that board was replaced by ALK Capital, which then allowed Dyche to bring in Cornet and Weghorst from abroad. In this context, I think he has demonstrated that he's a very good coach.
I'm a bit stunned that you would consider Defour, Westwood, Brownhill and McNeil examples of technical quality. If that's your idea of it, it exactly proves my point about terribly low standards.

He is but so is dyche
Dyche isnt as good as Pep or Klipperty or even a Potter but he is much more competent a manager than Lampard. Therefore if we had Dyche in from game one we would have more points than we do now. We wouldn't be in the top 4 but we would be higher up the table and we wouldn't be complaining about possible relegation we would be complaining about boring football and being in mid table obscurity. This right now is a position I would happily be in

Hoofball got us out of a mess in 94-95, then the season after we started to play better football. It won`t be an easy watch but is probably the best way to play us out of the mess we are in now. Long term I`d not want to watch it but if it`s the way to get us to stay up I`ll gladly watch it for a season or two.
The game has changed in the past 3 decades.

90% of this forum, including myself, would have turned up our noses at Eddie Howe who had a similar record. These are two men who built clubs from nothing. Dyche had far and away the lowest spend during Burnley's stay in the Premier League, whatever Moyes may have done keeping us challenging for Europe a decade ago, it's a different league and these smaller clubs are just happy to stay in the league. He's not the perfect appointment, but in our situation who is? I think he can galvanize this group and the crowd will latch onto his ability to get them organized and fighting for us and each other. We can still claw our way out of the relegation mire with a few results!

Thanks for sharing.
I do like the guy. Think he would do well for us and we’d certainly get the best out of Don and perhaps even Maupay
He is worth a go.
Agree that he would get the best out of some players that have not been up to it recently
