Like I said, the xG against was much higher than the actual goals against and it was pretty obvious to be honest that it wasn't going to last. I think there was a run of 5 games where the opposition hit the woodwork like 7 times so even the eye test was pretty obvious if you're not a believer in stats. The luck eventually ran out and we started to concede goals.
Have a look at what people were saying in the Coady thread around the turn of the year and just before he was eventually dropped, there's A LOT of criticism and plenty of people actually advocating bringing Keane back in, because just like now, the player who isn't playing is often seen as better.
Also there obviously have been times when Keane's been in the side when we've had good defensive records so that's just a bit of a daft argument. As much as anything, that just goes to show that not conceding many doesn't necessarily mean your defenders are great.
