In all fairness, these performances started after losing Doucoure, Onana and Coleman I think.

well yes but what he did in the aftermath contributes no?

he lost his RB, so he put in a CB and he got terrorised, next game he puts another CB at RB and he gets terroised ( all while we have a RB on the bench )

onana as much as i like him hasnt been amazing recently anyway so i dont think he's been missed THAT much, doucoure only has himself to blame.

wed have gotten atleast 2/3 moree points if it wasnt for keane, im convinced of that.

We played about 2 good games in Lampards tenure - Brentford in the cup last season & Palace at home this season.

Many claimed the players were gash and Frankel needed 2-3 summer windows to mould his own side. Dyche hasn't signed a single player and ya'll have turned despite his record being better than Lampards.

His lack of subs is frustrating and Godfrey should never have been picked over Patterson but he's still getting a feel of the squad and needs time to work out what he's working with.

To get rid now would be catastrophic.
but it doesnt matter what lampard done, why are you using what lampard achieved to compare vs dyche, lampard was sacked for being crap? so he's not a good example to use.

how will he get to know what he's working with when he refuses to drop certain players no matter how bad they play? he's a one dimensional manager with no plan B, he picks his mates because he trusts them ( for some bizarre reason )

oh and i agree btw, i wouldnt sack him now either it's pointless, if he keeps us up id back him in to next season against my better judgement, if/when he takes us down he should be first out the door because it would have meant we finished the season with 1 or 2 wins in 15 games, thats awful.

Yeah I agree he could’ve done better during that period definitely

I agree I don't think he handled it well TBH. He could've made use of other options. But also the options were a little bit limited
I think this is it in a nutshell really. He's not a great manager, i think we all knew that anyway, but it's maybe hard to argue that he should be getting any more out of the options available than he is.

Without wanting to go all Moshiri and 'expected losses', for me the only really bad result we've had under Dyche is Fulham (the scorelines against Arsenal and Newcastle are bad obviously, but being beaten handily by 2nd and 3rd when you're 19th isn't exactly surprising). Unfortunately we're in a position where some of the draws that would ordinarily be decent results aren't necessarily good enough. The set up/team in the United and Fulham games was wrong in my opinion, and I totally get that people think he should have done more to get something out of the Palace and Leicester games. Realistically I'm not entirely convinced that there was much he could do really, because the squad we have is genuinely abysmal, but managers will always be judged on results and we're not getting them so it is what it is.

They are, but you mean to tell me literally the same formation and style would never work if we have, say, Garner in the Doucure position? Or push Onana ahead and Garner in the middle?

Nah, Maupay up top it is lol
I haven’t seen Garner much but he looks like more of a sitter to me. But yeah maybe Onana. He could’ve used Gray more at times too, who I thought did well at the beginning of Dyche’s time. And obviously there’s been too much Keane and Godfrey

And Leeds, Leicester, Chelsea, United

How many had Dyche had since Arsenal?

The owner’s decision to not sack Lampard after Brighton at the latest is the reason for it. And then also the decision to appoint serial relegatee Sean Dyche didn’t help in my own opinion.
He should have gone after the Bournemouth fiasco: 7-1 defeat on aggregate, and we had a six week window of opportunity while the World Cup was onto get a new manager in, for them apply their principles (only four members of the squad went to the World Cup) and also identify targets for January even if only the loan market.

It’s easy with hindsight of course but it would appear we have a history of twisting when maybe sticking a bit longer was best, and the one time we should have definitely twisted, we stuck!! Returning after the World Cup to those six pointers against Wolves and Southampton and getting nothing was as pivotal as anything this season.

Why not?

If fans are playing a “huge role” in the owner’s decisions then the owner is an absolute clown who has no idea what he’s doing and that isn’t the fans’ fault either.
Agreed because p if the fans do play a large role, why the hell did he appoint Benitez? He can mentions us all he wants - it was a cheap excuse to distract from a sequence of disastrous decisions.

None. The Leeds and Brentford wins were dull spawny 1-0’s with a freak goal in one of them. We were absolutely terrible against Leeds and camped inside our own box for 80 minutes of the Brentford game. Arsenal is truly the only game we’ve won that we thoroughly deserved.
