2022/23 Sean Dyche

Why not?

If fans are playing a “huge role” in the owner’s decisions then the owner is an absolute clown who has no idea what he’s doing and that isn’t the fans’ fault either.
He is, and you have said it youself many times, the fans are playing a huge role, and not always for the best

Not for another two months mert. Fact is 80% of our fans were happy to stick by Lampard after that appalling run of form, which gave him 6 extra games in the New Year. Yet the flocks have turned on Dyche already.

Lampard was sacked because results were crap, and should’ve been sacked sooner. Dyche will also be sacked if results continue to be crap and we’re relegated.

We had one win in 8. Had been pumped 7-1 aggregate against Bournemouth and dropped to 17th in the league. Yet fan support behind him was this:

Dyche has come in (operating with a worse off squad - no Gordon) and grabbed a point per game (which would be enough in normal circumstances to keep you up) yet the negativity towards him is relentless.

Is 831 a big enough sample size? It's 2% of Goodison's capacity.

It’s the fans’ job to support the team, not run the club. Our relegation has absolutely zero to do with the fans and everything to do with the clowns that run the club and the two crap useless managers we’ve had over the course of the season.

Something we can agree on.

My point on the fans is more to do with how long they were willing to give Lampard compared to how quickly they're willing to turn on Dyche.
Turning is what they do best, what did they expect with this squad? Ok there are things he could of done better, his starting 11 against Fulham, his subs, but i still wouldnt swap him for anyone else from the bottom set of managers

Probably not. But it was the general sentiment at the time. Most were willing to give him until Jan to get a striker in the door.

Obviously never happened but some forget Dyche didn't get one either. In fact, he lost our top scorer at the time in Gordon too.

You say this but loads are saying why should we do it again, then you have the Ive bought my ticket i want to be Entertained types, then the ones who just boo, shout abuse, walk out....etc

I was one of the yes's on November 12th mert. I foolishly had hope Dom could get fit and we'd buy an attacker or two in January.

After November 12th's game Lampard had played 15 games and gotten 14 points.

If we lose Monday then Dyche will have had 15 games and gotten 14 points.

I hope if that happens your Lampard angst back in November and wishing for him to be sacked is appropriately passed onto Dyche too :)

Right. But will 80% of the fanbase still back Dyche if we lose on Monday? Didn't think so, which is case in point.

Maybe because there would only be 3 more games afterwards, unlike the 23 + transfer window Lampard had at that point.

You can afford more time to managers the earlier into the season you are.

It also won't make the slightest bit of difference in the real world since Moshiri doesn't base his decisions on a GOT poll.

Why wasn’t he sacked then? It has absolutely nothing to do with fan support, it was the owner’s decision. The owner doesn’t even attend football matches let alone look at online forum polls, how would he even know what the general feeling was towards Lampard? He should’ve been sacked based on results alone, because that’s what normal football clubs do rather than wait until some fans put their name on a bedsheet.
Well we had a chairman who was left in control of the club and is supposed to be football wise, lol, why didn’t he take control and change the manager or even suggest to the owner in the weeks between before the World Cup and the weeks after that Lampard needed replacing.

Imagine people carried the same energy for criticism against Lampard that they do for Dyche.

We probably wouldn't be in this mess that's for sure.

+1

They don't have the self respect to hold their hands up and admit they kept Lampard in a job for too long as they always have to appear to be right on the internet.

The obsession with "sooper Frank hates the fat walrus kopite" has possibly sent us down. 🤦‍♂️

You're being facetious - we both know ignoring the poll, general sentiment was fanbase supporting Lampard at that stage. Moshiri clearly reacts to fan sentiment, there's been countless examples of that.

Dyche has come in and delivered a higher PPG than Lampard but despite that, been written off in double quick time than his predecessor.

No, general sentiment of the GOT poll-clicking fanbase - that is not the club's entire fanbase is it.
