Well we would, because the fans don’t sack managers.

We all know fans turning on a manager dictate how long he will carry on. It finally happened in the end with Lampard.

The fact the majority of our fans still backed him after back-to-back defeats v Bournemouth before the WC is partly why we're second from bottom right now.

God forbid an owner makes a decision on a manager’s future based on actual results and not which way the wind is blowing from the terraces. What a mad futuristic concept.

I’d say the back to back defeats to Bournemouth and Wolves either side of the World Cup is more the reason we’re second bottom not the fans

The owner’s decision to not sack Lampard after Brighton at the latest is the reason for it. And then also the decision to appoint serial relegatee Sean Dyche didn’t help in my own opinion.

We had one win in 8. Had been pumped 7-1 aggregate against Bournemouth and dropped to 17th in the league. Yet fan support behind him was this:

Dyche has come in (operating with a worse off squad - no Gordon) and grabbed a point per game (which would be enough in normal circumstances to keep you up) yet the negativity towards him is relentless.

Why wasn’t he sacked then? It has absolutely nothing to do with fan support, it was the owner’s decision. The owner doesn’t even attend football matches let alone look at online forum polls, how would he even know what the general feeling was towards Lampard? He should’ve been sacked based on results alone, because that’s what normal football clubs do rather than wait until some fans put their name on a bedsheet.

But Lampard was still sacked regardless of that poll so not really sure why it really matters at the end of the day?

The owner wanted Vitor Pereira but for fan protests. To think that fans don't play a huge role in a managers future is mental.

He was hardly going to sack a manager that retained the support of 80% of the fanbase.

The point is - Lampard got a free pass for a long time because he 'got us' and was a young, progressive manager. Dyche's arrived and done fairly well with what he's got yet facing way more abuse from fans than Lampard did during some of his worst spells in charge.

Dont they? Farhad himself when he blamed the fans for the mess we are in said the fans wanted change in the past, and got what they wanted, the sacking of Sam being the best example, even if it wasnt for the benefit of the club.
The fans also wanted Frank not Vitor, who might of been the better option

Why not?

If fans are playing a “huge role” in the owner’s decisions then the owner is an absolute clown who has no idea what he’s doing and that isn’t the fans’ fault either.

Not for another two months mert. Fact is 80% of our fans were happy to stick by Lampard after that appalling run of form, which gave him 6 extra games in the New Year. Yet the flocks have turned on Dyche already.

Something we can agree on.

My point on the fans is more to do with how long they were willing to give Lampard compared to how quickly they're willing to turn on Dyche.
