What else was he ever going to say though? He obviously thought it was the right thing to do, otherwise he wouldn’t have done it, so all he was ever going to do was defend it. People expecting managers to throw themselves under a bus in these things is even more bizarre than expecting them to do it to players.
I wasn’t expecting. Just commenting on it.

When Dyche was linked to our job i was underwhelmed to say the least. But then i watched all his podcasts and really liked a lot of what he was saying, he made a lot of sense.
The least i expected of him and his staff was for things to make sense and us to understand why he does things.
The Doucoure red card is likely to be the act that relegates us because then what Dyche has done makes no sense at all. The high line against UTD, the choices of Godfrey and then Holgate at right back and most of all Michael Keane.
The Michael Keane thing completely baffles me. His comment regarding Keane has been rattling runs my head all day. "He was the best player on the pitch before Newcastle scored" what does that even mean? we kept a clean sheet for 28 minutes...wow
We have all watched Keane for years, he is not only terrible himself but he makes everyone around him worse. Tarkowski looks far worse now alongside him.
Contrary to that we have Mina on the bench who has proven to make whoever played alongside him look far better. He appears to have had the best run of fitness he has had in years and he doesn't play.
Playing with Mina Godfrey was getting in England squads, Holgate with Mina i also thought looked liked a player too at one stage.
What also drove me made with Keane was the chances he missed with weak headers from corners against Leicester, particularly the one he put wide before half time. I feel like Mina in the same situation would have attacked the ball and got at least one of those chances.
Rant over

Defending keane when he has an opponents head in one hand and a chainsaw in the other is abit strong

Something makes me think he likes alot of claret

I also heard that interview and thought he was talking out of his arse about Keane fair enough you let players play through spells of being out of form but not when there is only 4 games left it is just stupid pluss he never gave Coady that grace so it just seems like playing favorites
it is a shame journalists don't have the balls to ask real questions

Probably the view of a lot of fans but unfortunately thean in charge doesn't watch the same player we do

+1

They don't have the self respect to hold their hands up and admit they kept Lampard in a job for too long as they always have to appear to be right on the internet.

The obsession with "sooper Frank hates the fat walrus kopite" has possibly sent us down. 🤦‍♂️
Literally every single post regarding post Lampard on here has people putting their hands up saying he should have been gone after Bournemouth in hindsight, nobody defends keeping him on at all. Carry on though. You don't have the self respect to admit that Rafael put us in this mess.

At the end of the day we're comparing apples to apples.

Lampard ultimately wasn't up to scratch, I don't believe Dyche is/will be either.

For the sake of our club at the end of the season, whether in the PL or Championship, we need a whole new board, DoF and manager IMO.

Oh and squad, they're all crap.
This 100%. Nobody can argue with this.

If we fail to beat Brighton and City, he’ll be on a similar winless run to the waiter (1 in 13) and worse than Lampard (1 in 11) at the point they were both sacked. Not that either is acceptable but at this stage of last season, 4 to go, the latter had racked up 5 wins which effectively kept us up, Dyche has to win 3 out of the 4 just to match that and all 4 to better it

Absolutely and was a point i made yesterday. He couldnt wait to get keane into the side so anyone who was playing i think was on borrowed time because he wanted keane in. I think everyones form dipped around a certain time in the season(was it ever there tbh) but i dont care what anyone says, at the start of the season i was watching Everton and tarkowski/coady were keeping Everton in games. And the stats over 10 games.

Tarkowski/coady. 10 games. 10 goals
Tarkowski/keane 10 games. 20 goals.

The comparison over the same amount of games is double the goals conceded.
But to go back to your point. Its fully correct. Coady wasnt given the same grace as keane is quite clearly getting. What other conclusion can people come up with other than he's got his go to favourites no matter how they perform. The "keane was the best player on the pitch v newcastle" should be alarm bells going off.

I think it completely shows the manager that we currently have, what is frightening is he will be here next season no matter what

Unfortunately he will keep Keane in until the seasons end and it will relegate us without doubt

Dyche needs 4 points from the last 4 games to EQUAL Benitez record.

Imagine Benitez smug face when telling the media he has the best record of the last 3 managers, a very real possibility.....
