One thing I have learned is that if you give a good woodworker a box of shoddy , cheap tools. Or a good artist a box of shoddy brushes and cheap paints , both will create something that exceeds expectations and is far beyond what many others can create with the best equipment.
That is because their experience and skill allows them to manipulate even the most shoddy equipment to achieve their vision.
It is the same with any trade, skill is more important than the equipment on hand.
Dyche has undoubtedly been given a shoddy box of tools, but so far he has produced only shoddy results and has failed to exceed expectations.
He is not a master of his trade by any means, he lacks the skill and vision to impose his will on the tools he has inherited and create something that will impress.
He has proved distinctly average at best and we desperately need better going forward.
We need a craftsman not a labourer.

... you'd never guess that though by listening to him throughly love the sound of his own voice.

Honestly, the fella thinks he's the English Guardiola the way he thinks he can manipulate players' psychology just because he made them fill in a kin questionnaire and gets them to give each other piggybacks while wearing their shinnies.

Fella is a joke and is taking us down.

Yeah I Thought initially he even talked a good game, but it is like he had taken his footballing phrases or cliches from a box of christmas crackers, he has ran out of new ones and just keeps reuses the old ones. He has not been very inventive in trying to solve problems. He also needs to understand that in 90 minutes it’s not just the players that have to perform - he does as well by make key decisions that may change the flow of the game

Only just read the articles that seeped out last night about Dyche’s view of the rebuild needed/impact of relegation.

Seems to be the first sign of “I’m staying for the rebuild even if we go down” in a couple of the answers? Fancies himself as a clever talker so I assume he’s fed that in deliberately. Maybe to give a veneer of some stability. Same reason they will announce investment 2 mins after we are mathematically relegated, as a sorry we have ballsed everything up but don’t worry there is a future for the club, financially at least.

I was happy when he came in, and for a few weeks after. But performances and results of late have been a big letdown. The few good results he has had have been from far post corners, and defenders scoring worldies. In his own terms, that’s not sustainable. It’s been downhill since the initial burst. The relegation run in is all about momentum and confidence from week to week, and he has failed to build that completely. Pressure has gone up and up and up.

But really weirdly I’m content actually seeing someone indicate they are sticking with it come what may. 🤷‍♂️

He’d have no option really…if we do down it will effectively be his third or fourth relegation in 10 years and whilst people could see reason in it happening at Burnley there would be less sympathy with us due to size and that fact the Whilst he needed to improve our points return, he did not need to pull up any trees to avoid relegation. No other top flight club would touch him

Arsenal got totally spanked by City, so did United, so did Liverpool, City are not the yardstick. Burnley will finish about mid table next season, bookmark this post.
Burnley have a recent premier league legacy which will help. But I can’t see them being a top half side.
might surprise the first season - like Fulham - but guess they will bounce between the divisions a couple of times again over the next decade.

Very true. As much as we think we are big draw, whilst the size and history of the club does/should matter to some managers, we don’t look a great prospect, so suspect we will stick with Dyche regardless of the outcome.

Financial investigations pending, uncertain ownership, shocking public perception due to the Usmanov links (bred by the media), board unable to attend games. We are a pay rise for an up and coming manager, but they are savvy enough to see the potential damage to their career progression.

That’s all before they look at the shocking state of the squad, which coupled with the expectations surrounding a club of this size means they are always 4 misplaced passes from Iwobi from being boo’d out of a job and escorted under the bus along with all other recent managers.

Not impossible we get it sorted over the coming years. Change of ownership or external investment, board changes, minimal P&S punishment due to cooperation, stadium completion. Could turn really quickly. Could also literally disintegrate into oblivion. Any potential incoming manager until the ownership and investigations are sorted out is taking a massive gamble, and trusting he’s being told the truth, which he obviously won’t be.
I for one at this time of the season are willing to stick with Dyche, however I honestly believe with this bunch of losers there is not a hope in hell of ANY manager getting a tune out of them, seriously how many managers have we seen come and go, all I see when I watch Everton is the pathetic skill levels time and again of the majority of this squad which is an absolute embarrassment to every Everton supporter.

Not watched Plymouth play, but the Steven Schumacher shout of a new manager looks to be a good one to me.

Just got them promoted and a very good record as both coach and manager.

He's took a backwards step. The rhetoric about historical problems, albeit true, is a defence mechanism to get him off the hook. We've seen it before, many times, and for that I find his interviews patronising. We've seen that before too.
Regardless what happens this season I don't want him here next season.
Yet again we need a proper rebuild and he isn't the right man for that. It's a 5 year project and I couldn't endure 5 years of his diet Lardiola miserable negativity.
