So you would do just as bad then?

We had zero options at left back.

You would think we had prime Roberto Carlos sat off in the reserves the way some people talk.

The issue is not that Holgate is playing, the issue is WHY he is playing.
I will probably play McNeil as lb or lwb for now if there is no one.

Whenever Dyche talks its always based on his past and his experience, he seldom talks about learning from something. OK some of that is about being a leader but its blatantly obvious that he uses his history as a crutch. BFS is a lot like that too but Dyche doesnt have that blameless over inflated ego to go with it yet, so his reliance on his experience is currently pretty factual.
I cannot see him changing much for next year if we stay up.
We will get another year of
Pickford
Coleman - Tarkowski - Keane - Mykolenko
Iwobi - Garner - Gana - McNeil
Doucoure
DCL

Cannot see any of them leaving or getting poached, Dyche buying someone to replace any of them or Thelwell being funded to sign someone miles better. If we stay up, our transfer window will be all about better squad players to come in when others are injured.

I get all this and I'm aware that football doesn't work like this, but, we beat Arsenal and we smashed Brighton. The squad is not good.

We have players who can have good games tho, a good manager gets it out of them more than once every 2 months.

Look, if he keeps us up, I will thank him, but I personally don't consider it a miracle.

Calvert Lewin was fit for both them games.

It's almost like having an actual forward helps.

Look at Everton's results/points per game since Christmas under Ancelotti.

This same team team, with [insert any manager here] as manager next season is fighting relegation.

I find it incredible there's still fans who think we shouldn't be where we are. This dictated it;

I think any three of any of McNeil, Gordon, Townsend, Gray, Rondon, Maupay and we struggle to be competitive enough to stay in this league. We'll be asking players to hit numbers for goals/assists that they've never hit before.

If we don't bring in anyone else to fill the void that Lampard has spoke about then IMO, we'll be in a position were the difference between a relegation scrap to the wire, or mid table comfort comes down to Calvert-Lewin's fitness IMO, and even then - we've lost his biggest providers. We don't create a lot - 19th or 20th for chances last season, and 18th so far this season.

If you think we should be sacking Dyche even if we stay up, please share which "progressive" manager should come in and how much you think they're getting to spend...

We look much more confident with him

Look at the difference he's made against Leicester and Brighton (even City yesterday he was superb). We look a completely different side, brings others into play, we have runners, he occupies the centre halves.

A fit DCL and we'd be nowhere near the bottom 3 as the team dynamic completely changes and we are a different proposition.

BUT we all knew DCL wasn't fit and like Danny says, there aren't many goals in the side because there isn't that focal point when DCL isn't there

I'll feel a whole lot more confident that we'll get the 2 results required if DCL is available

The alternative was McNeil at LWB, and hes been our best player under Dyche, especially after an unbelievable performance at Brighton the week before

if we'd lost 3-0 with McNeil at LWB you'd be saying he shouldn't have changed the formation

He cant win
There must be a natural left-back somewhere on the books.

Who plays there for the U23s?
