Sorry, can't agree with this. That Dyche kept this squad in the Premier League is, for me, one of the standout achievements of an Everton manager, since Moyes.
Our squad is small, limited skill-wise, and mostly mentally weak. Ok, not like there's been a ton of competition in the manager awards category...still, his points per game ratio from the half season would have placed us mid-table for the whole season.
Agreed, the Michael Keane situation is frustrating - but it's frustrating partly because previous people signed other center backs who can't be trusted. For me, passing on Coady was telling. We are seriously skint - his fee plus wages must have been deemed too much, but I struggle believe we're taking numbers that would worry a mid-table PL club. I liked Mina, but if anyone is on at Dyche about him, they're forgetting how high his per game cost was.
So, yep, I hate things at the mo, and most of all I hate that we had a chance when Moshiri first came in to change our trajectory, but we blew the money on a load of mid-table players priced as elite talent, and coupled that with confused and directionless strategy. But I can't believe some folks are loading up on Dyche at this stage. He's done okay given the grim situation we're in. We're no long making bad expensive signings (woohoo...); now we're not making any or picking stuff out of the bargain bin. No other recent Everton manager has had to deal with that (except maybe Benitez, but let's not go there).
Not saying Dyche's a great manager, or above blame (Branthwaite?) but I think (for now) people's anger is better directed elsewhere.
