We’ve had Benitez, who didn’t try, and Lampard, who just isn’t a good coach.

A good coach would have this team keeping the ball better. That is undeniable. Whether results would improve is debatable.
You`d have to say yes straight away, a possession based manager keeps the ball and sees the game out against 10 men, so you can see that is results improved straight away.

People applauding the defensive side of the team, can surely see it's in large to the fact that we play with every one in our own half for pretty much 90% of the game.

It's better organised than previously under Lampard (not hard) but you can argue Lampard was trying to play the side out of trouble, and actually get the ball forward, with Dyche it's a safety mentality.

The reason the forwards are all deemed terrible is because of the amount of defensive work he has them doing. They are expected to do the gritty work then be able to get forward and create opportunities for a forward who is isolated for the entire game feeding off nothing. The wide players are absolutely goosed, you can see that from a mile away. Again due to his stubbornness of willing to make subs.

We don't concede that goal yesterday if McNeil isn't doubled up as a full back in the 95th minute against 10 men. Your asking players who have spent their careers being told to go forward, who are meant to create and score goals and saying, actually can you just sit in front of the fullback and hold thier hands.

The most worrying thing for me, it's resembling the Benitez era... he had them good out of possession (for a while), good on the counter (not under Dyche), but what he did, just like what Dyche is doing now, is getting them to play without the ball - which is catastrophic. You can see they don't use the ball much in training.

The argument that Dyche is doing a fantastic job under circumstances is far fetched. He's crippling the sides ability to play football. Lampard said it when he came in after Benitez, there's players in the squad who can play with the ball, and for me that still stands now.

When people argue that the side can't play and the players are crap, but then are claiming members of the squad walk into top sides, It can't be both.

I think Dyche is doing an "OK" job. I wouldn't extend him beyond his contract though. If we do, it only goes one way.. a sacking and a large compensation payout...again.
I would extend because can still see us being in the same situation for anit longer would look to anothwr 2 years. Agree he does have to change the attacking side of this team but in the short time been here has improved the team. But agree he does need to inprove here

Bournemouth have won 3 points less than us. They also haven’t won in 7 games. Luton have won 11 points less than us and have lost 3 in a row including at home against the bottom team.
More about the style of play , did watch Bournemouth v city last night, they didn’t just give up and say it’s city what can you do. Like we didn’t lay a glove on them 2nd half.
Bournemouth deserved a draw

he’s changed the way they play over night.
I’d rather watch Bournemouth and Luton than us. And if we’re winning every other week and pushing for Europe or trophies playing this way, fair enough. But to watch this dross to at be 12th at best.
No thanks

This team cannot play attacking football.

Simply because we dont have quality in attack.
But you can play Patterson, and push Myko forward,
Which would open up the space for our attackers.
You could ask one of the sitting midfielders to push on more especially at home.
Maybe play a 4141, with 2 attackers from the middle supporting DCL.

To say we don’t have the attackers or quality is nonsense.

don’t watch

no someone marking dunk we see the game out

but PRIOR to that if we took the chances the games over

so i guess coz dyche didn’t score
then man mark dunk it’s his fault
Dyche is responsible for the attacking and defending side of the team, he chose to go MORE defensive against 10 men when a better equipped manager would have not taken off a CM for a cripple RB and pushed wide players higher and keep the ball to see the game out.

No Dyche went 5 at the back with wingbacks, affectively a back 7 whilst keeping Beto isolated, any chances Beto got were made by him and it wasn`t like they were clear cut chances.

The club was in such a mess though after lampard and benetiz. I cant speak for every Everton fan but i was quite happy to have the most boring mid table season going into the new stadium. Thats exactly where we would be without the crooks of the premier leagues deduction.

Exactly this, Dyche happy to set up to get beat and then go.... "well it is City"...

Other coaches at smaller clubs think "I`m having a go at these"

Never would I thought an Everton fanbase would agree with the Dyche set up not wanting to have a go at other teams, especially at home!!! When was the last time a Dyche team went after another team at Goodison? In 26 games across 2 seasons there hasn`t been one, sit in and defend defend defend....
