I havent believed a word any manager we had in the last 40 years has said mate, they all lie.

But its not that important currently, what is important is winning games, if he does that, he doesnt need to make excuses.
But making excuses is easier though.

You said earlier he can chat crap if we win today - nah, he should shut up for a change instead of doing the exact same press conference for the 30th time this season and own up the fact we did not win for 3 and a half months and he broke all the records and that he's responsible for this, not the xG/players/wind/tea lady/etc.

Well Sean Dyche only has Sean Dyches interests at heart, so of course hes going to push his own agenda.

He doesnt really care for Everton, who honestly cares about a job you have for 18months knowing you are moving on soon.

Hes a monotone man who plays monotone football.

Didn’t hear him making any excuses before this interminable winless run.

It was one of the few things I was prepared to credit him for.

We had our best run immediately after the ten point deduction, and he was all about ignoring it and getting on.

But then, suddenly, after a string of poor results it turned out Dyche thought the 10 point deduction did matter hugely after all.

It started mattering when teams found our only way to play, which was after 5 games, and when everyone realised there's no plan B and never was.

Then it was a regular excuse, as was anything and everything else, except Sean Dyche.

Yeah, I noticed that, we puffed out our chest and got some wins, but as soon as the chips were down he started looking for excuses.

For somebody who wants us to ignore the noise, he certainly makes enough of it himself.

He didn't that's why, previously the points deductions and takeover stuff was 'background noise' according to him, now he mentions it in every other press conference.

He is such a weird character.

You have all this bluster in press conferences and ‘call me Gaffer’ energy on the training ground, but he strikes me as a much weaker man than he’s prepared to present to the world.

He’s constructed this honey monster persona to mask that, but it breaks through in things like these retrospective complaints in press conferences and his panicked randomised substitutions when he thinks the fans might boo him for not trying to change a looming defeat.

See also his perfunctory three or four claps above his head followed by running down the tunnel after every game, and his “I haven’t got a problem with the fans,” sound bites he slings into most press conferences when discontent is suggested by the journalists.

There just no relationship there whatsoever. No attempt to build one from him.

I genuinely think he’s scared of us.

I suspect hes scared of losing his very highly paid job.

I doubt he gets paid as much by anybody else in the future.

And ive no problem with that, as long as he wins games.

He's big on control the controllables etc. which I get.

There's a chance hes been instructed to talk up the impact of the previous point deduction ahead of double jeopardy defence.

Make no mistake - carrying 10 point deduction for 4 months and having a second handing over impacts.

He also has a reputation to maintain though - "fans love him", "knows what to say", you know, the likes, while also bringing down expectations so that situations where his team takes the lead but ends up drawing is "a good point", losing from a winning position is "a good effort", and all those soundbites.

What's shocking is that people are genuinely buying into it and making excuses for him - a lot on here have woken up to his character, but the general public, other forums, facebook, reddit all love him because he "says it how it is", when he repeats the exact same waffle every single time.

It does impact, it's natural, but if he's big on controllables - he's not doing a good job of those really.
