Their personal living memory… born in 1992….
Only remember Joe Royle, moyes and the world of dross, then Dyche
Big Joe is head and shoulders above Dyche but that's not to discredit Dyche at all he's done a great job keeping us up. Was discussed in another thread somewhere last week too.

Im paraphrasing but in one of the full quotes today hes saying "if i dont have money and sell expensive players, i need to replace with cheap players and they arent as good".

Again, paraphrasing "if i cant find those cheap players then i need to look internally at youth players. But we dont have any time to wait for them to develop"

But at the same time were rumoured to be giving Coleman a 1 year deal because as Dyche says "he wants to continue playing".

Looks like Thelwell has finally begun to get around to signing players from other clubs to bring into our u18 and u21 sides.

We need to be doing this all of the time and build a positive reputation and pathway.

1: It makes no sense to say its easier to build a defensive side. If that were true then Italian sides wouldnt have won as many trophies...let alone Mourinho with his defensive tactics or back in the day, George Graham and everyones favourite, Simeone.

Id go as far as saying the defensive strategy would be more challenging to build thesedays as all the top sides play attacking football....you need an edge.

2: If you compare Pickford, Branthwaite, Onana & DCL real values with Bournemouths spine then the difference is enormous.

Using transfermarkt is fine but never for transfer values. In real life if Dyche was given £100mil + sales and was told he could only sign u23 aged players...following his strategy, we'd certainly have a far better team than Bournemouth.

Just having an effective right hand side would be a massive boost for us
He had 40mil bought Beto and a young striker that never gets a game
But zat thinks give him another 100 and he will build brilliant young side 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you live in fantasy football world

What an absolute Benitez statement.
Brilliant excuse. Like was pointed out yesterday he was saying the same at Burnley for 10 years. So
Why didn’t he develop the academy

He's been here for 1 season, and after the academy being reduced to nothing more than tokenism the last 5-6 years you want him to turn it around in one summer? Have you thought this through?
Forget the academy while dyche is here, he’s not using young players unless we get a superstar like Branthwaite. I said yesterday was watching a guy who works in recruitment and is an Everton fan and he said no point this summer buying young players as dyche won’t play them. Patterson is finished at Everton

Funny how Kompany gets the Burnley Jon and they start buying young players. Non of this 20mil on Chris wood or Weghorst

I don't know how you lot have the energy to whinge about the manager, even if you hate him surely you aren't advocating we sack him when the club can barely pay our staff on a monthly basis and we have no owner present

He's referring to bringing someone in " to develop " if it's a replacement for an established player.

Personally think he's relating it to the owner situation and selling someone like Branthwaite. He's developed him after he's already been out on loan. We sell him and can't spend much of the money, we're not the right environment ATM to then bring in another Branthwaite to the first team straight away.

I don't think he's ruling out not buying youth

You just completely ignored my point to make other points whilst blaming a manager for something he didn't do. What are you rambling on about.

….that’s the job of the DoF.

I think he’s being very pragmatic. Any monies spent is more likely to go on players who can hit the ground running rather than prospects for 2 seasons time. I’m sure he’d still welcome Academy graduates if they’re good enough but there’s not much happening on that front.
