Absolutely no chance I’m blaming Dyche for yesterday’s result. This is all on the board for yet again not bringing in a striker inn. If we had DC fit yesterday we win that game comfortably.

Aye Kenwright and Moshiri absolutely insisting on playing Maupay yesterday lol

The board is crap but there's other people who are also limited/crap at what they do ffs, no one should be beyond criticism

Turning on the man after one game in which we were the better side and only lost because of abysmal finishing / a corrupt ref chalking off a perfectly sound goal.

@Saint Domingo
Who has turned on him? I was on the fence with him last season and disappointed with his in game management then as well.

I’ve pointed out there’s loads of positives and he sets us up well and that we could have been clear if not down to poor finishing from our players.

most are criticising his in game management which in the second half was poor and seems to be a reoccurring theme.

The performance was good once that's there...........we were very unlucky.

His delay in subs is the only valid criticism but even then our bench consisted of garbage outside of half fit Danjuma.

People should be angry at a referee who failed to send off Willian for a very poor challenge & chalking off a legitimate gol.

We got screwed simple as that.

Surely he would have done that last season? When they also missed numerous chances and he stubbornly stuck with the same players every week.

I get some people don’t rate dobbin or cannon but I would fancy their finishing over some of our other players. But we don’t even try to change the setup until it’s too late.

He is setting us up well at the start, and we could have been clear. There are loads of positives from Dyche. But he just needs to be more flexible in changing things or we will end up on another run of 1 in 11 or something.
It is frustrating when he dosent make changes. Granted, we dont have the options off the bench that most PL teams have but the young lads will never get experience without playing. I can only assume Maupay trains like a machine to keep getting picked, but its what he does on the pitch (or dosent do) that counts.

He had options and his own team of a decade at Burnley, and made subs in the 80th minute lol It's nothing to do with who's on the bench, it's about who's got "EXPERIENCE" to start.

My bet is Maupay has somehow acquired nudes of Dyche and is blackmailing him.

Yeah, both are equally important, and we/Dyche predominantly goes for one over the other.

We showed under Lampard that possession means nothing if you can’t do anything, all the skill got us where we were which was in the relegation zone.

For me, the first part of the battle was getting the fitness up. Every game last season, the opposition ran more than us… gang needed to change.

Yesterday was a disappointment, but 9 shots on target, woodwork hit, I get the sense it was more “not our day” rather than us being utterly garbage.

Time will tell, but I saw enough from the team to not be pressing the panic button yet.

You get games like yesterday mate, Maupay is a high chance to shot scorer like Andy Cole he will miss 6 for 1, another day the ref gives that Keane goal and Patterson scores. The game could have been 3-1 to us.

The performance was good, the mentality was good, we need a bit of Calvary but we will get it. We need a bit of presence and influence in the box and a bit more creativity and variance in it

It a tough one to swallow on the opening day but this is a marathon not a sprint.

If we were crap id say that, but we weren't.

No one's asking for him to become or be a top manager - work ethic and directness of play are great under him. We're asking for him to grow a few more braincells to see the obvious stubborn mistakes, nothing to do with how the club's run on that front.
How the club is run affects every aspect of the club. If this club was well run Sean Dyche wouldn’t be at Goodison, the majority of the players wouldn’t be at Goodison. Everything that is happening at Goodison Park is as a result of incompetence at the top. Dyche is a symptom he is not the problem.

For all those saying the performance was decent, in the context of last seasons performance against Fulham at home, it was a bit of improvement.

Yes we created the better chances and should have had a couple of goals to show for it.

However, 36% possession at home against a very average Fulham team tells me all I need to know still.

not too sure about Dyche after yesterday, wanted to give him benefit of the doubt, but seeing nothing to make me believe we wont be in trouble again.

We weren’t unlucky. We had Maupay up front. The misses were utterly predictable and have been for years now.

Unlucky would have been other players missing them.

We had one chalked off and Patterson missed an open goal - we were unlucky to my mind mate. Dont disagree on Maupay mind, we need a different forward - but we have DCL, Chermiti, Danjuma all in transition and we obviously have another forward to snag in the window.

Apart from finishing which all people care about with a forward, Maupay played well.

The first part of the battle has been basically a war then, as we're going for the fitness approach for, what, 6 months and a preseason now? They do need to change but this way of excusing Dyche will lead us to be Burnley Mk2.

It was a disappointment because we were actually good, to Dyche's credit, as we play well when we're direct. It's a shame if ANY other striker is on we're gonna be back to hoofing it to him as all the others are not midgets so we'll change everything for no reason. To counter that he also insisted on leaving Maupay on forever which was bizarre and then put a winger on for him which was equally as bizarre, lest we get a youngster score a goal, that's illegal around these parts.

It's not a panic button situation but it's things that will stack up and will be even harder to fix with time if it's not addressed sooner - "experience" and old players over any form of youth and flair (even for a cameo FFS), no subs because "subs don't win games" or something equally as daft, players not being ready even for said cameo for months because of fitness (even if they'll play 10-15 min hilariously), insistence of playing his own boys (Keane and shockingly Maupay for example), having no idea when/how to address any changes to the team (Doucoure out? Absolutely aimless play and hoof to no one), etc. Right now those seem like nothing because it's, well, 1 game in - but we lost it exactly how we'd know we'll lose last night, no? And the things that should've changed the game in our favour weren't addressed until it was already too late.
