He's clearly got us set up a lot more openly to get people forward and create chances. And we have been creating more than the opposition in most games. There's just no clinical ruthlessness to this team.

His other way of playing is what we saw in the arsenal game. And that's awful.

It would be nice if he found a balance between the two but I'm not sure he ever will ..

Tbh the defenders are not here at this club. The fullbacks are as bad as we've had for many a year. I feel a bit for tarkowski and branthwaite. Every single defender in this league makes errors but these two must feel like they're pissing in the wind with the full backs and even worse the back up of keane and godfrey.
I also think he needs to drop the gueye/doucoure partnership. It needs freshening up. Bring McNeill and garner inside and play harrison danjuma more wide. Granted we havent fantastic options but when you've lost the first 4 home games on the bounce and scored 1 goal if you just continue to play the same every game you deserve to be sacked

You say we are creating chances!
Apart from maybe 1 or 2 proper chances (Doucoure v Fulham, Dom v Brentford) when have we actually created genuine good chances for the forwards? Our XG is mainly so high due to the throw it in there quick and fast routine while its pinging around!

For example the Onana/Doucoure/Dom effort on Saturday that led to our goal totalled in an XG of 1.79!

Creating chaos is not really creating chances

Quite a few proper chances in the first half on Saturday tbh.

But yeah it's not ideal but it's an improvement on how we were playing this time last year (and I know that's not saying much lol )

If our defending hadn't been so pathetic we would have probably been ok

How many of those were chances that we were 'in control of' though?

Maybe Garner's left foot effort from a break away.
McNeil's volley got deflected up in the air for him to hit
The rest were deep crosses we try to get onto the end of or punts into the box!

A lot of our high XG comes from us just lumping it in there and try and get on the end of it! There isn't much control to the chances we are creating, hence erratic finishing!

Sean must know the score this coming week end. He'll know full well that another home defeat will see him out of a job.

A draw is an interesting situation - I'm not sure how that would go down, not very well but depending on how the draw was gained could save him I suppose.

To be truthful I don't actually rate or like him that much, but I don't dislike him or think he's a complete disaster either.

I wish he would have got another win by now to prove he's the man for this job, because I'd hate all the palaver surrounding a new manager search and the media beating down on the crisis club angle again.

Some of this is down to the players. I think neither Dom or Beto are used to being anything other than a lone striker. A couple of times Dom crashed the side netting when a square ball might have been the easier route. Beto could be heading some of tese crosses down into the danger area....

Losing 5 at home on the bounce is criminal. His past record suggests he won't get any better

We need to get on top of it alright, we’re a weird creature at home really largely down to identity and expectation that leaves us vulnerable. The diversity in opinion and general concern for the club at every level and for want of a better word Everton PTSD all leads to general unsettled news amongst the fan base and atmosphere in my opinion.

Not so sure on previous record either you could point to many things depending on what angle you take, like years of keeping in a team in PL or Euro qualification etc. So you can draw whatever positive or negative you like really by picking a primary peice of history - it’s not indictitivr really mate, in my opinion.

This for me too - he is just a meh! manager.

I welcome any points that we win.
I hate points we lose through trying to be too smart. Why mess around with the formation and style when winning those games. That team selection on Saturday was crazy. Our home form ffs against teams, even Arsenal, we should be winning some points against.
As for 18 games, that's a no no.

I’d say it was trying to manage the squad, it was our third game in a week. I mention in my pother post my opinion on our home form mate.

Let’s be honest we’re a team that our fans expect to be on the front foot at home and when we do it we’re vulnerable and get caught, Fulham, Wolves and Arsenal. Do we need to accept that we’re not good enough to go on the front foot against these teams, swallow our big club pride and get results. Expectation Vs reality in my opinion. A lot of managers have struggled with here.

No one wants to be beaten at home by Luton but no one wants to play as pragmatic as we did Vs Arsenal.

Blaming the fans for 7 defeats in 8 games.

You all need to lower your expectations.

Expecting to beat the worst team in the division at home is unrealistic.

Temper those expectations and things will pick up.

Latest from the club explaining Dyche’s frustrations about last Saturday. He looked really frustrated in the stands with his family at Forest vs Brentford on Sunday! Why wasn’t he doing something to try and fix things? Was he at Forest because he didn’t have a festival to go to? Remember who you’re managing, pal, and do your job. By all means have a day off but not on the telly at your current home town PL club!

Precisely this. This is where we are and where we will remain with Dyche. Against Villa, I make up that he stumbled on a formation that actually could well suit this set of players. Then out against Fulham, he totally overlooks that and saps any positivity that might have started to build by mixing its ll up again - formation, approach, personnel. Really poor and regressive stuff. Nah, he's done. This is his level and if we remain with him, we'll soon be below the water line and drowning.
