If it weren't for Benitez he'd be the most unlikable manager Everton have ever had.
Comes across so arrogant.
One of the worst starts to a season we've ever had. One of the lowest Point per game of any manager working. In the PL.
Forced into playing the players the "internet warriors" want, and wins a match, and now he's cock of the walk.

Let's see how his xg nonsense comes across when it's January and we're still sat on 7 points.
As long as he wins games he can be the illegitimate son of Satan himself.

I just don't care as long as we win

Personally, I think we’ll struggle against most teams at home if they sit deep and absorb pressure.

My hope is we had a woeful record against crap teams the last 2 seasons and still stayed up...

I don't think we handle expectation well + inability to break teams down who sit deep at Goodison

Everton 0-1 Fulham L - 0
Aston Villa 4-0 Everton L - 0
Everton 0-1 Wolves L - 0

Sheff Utd 1-1 Everton D - 1
Everton 0-1 Arsenal - L - 0
Brentford 1-3 Everton - W - 3
Everton 1-2 Luton - L - 0
Everton 3-0 Bournemouth - W - 3

7 points from those games, with 4 defeats on the spin at home, Losing to Fulham, Wolves and Luton at home in particular is a killer.

We needed a few more points on the board before the next run of games to take the pressure off.

*glances at the fixture list*

After pissing away the opportunity we had with that start, we'd do well to be 17th come Christmas.

Forest, Burnley and Palace away. Vital we get points from them. This next 10 games will be a slog but if we can come out of them with anywhere nearing 10 points, 2 wins, 4 draws, we'll likely still have enough distance between ourselves and the bottom 3.

Any manager who loses 4 straight home games in this league will be questioned

Its 1 win in 5. Its a start, and its very welcome. But I dont think there is any need for the comments and I dont really understand them either. The home form has been awful and no one is happy with it.

My personal opinion is that I think hes very limited as a manager. His team selections are very cautious and he is slow to adapt. I'm not asking a lot either, just 40 points, safety with less stress, and an improvement on the last 2 years

Think gravel gob has been hanging around kenrwright and the happy clappers for far too long mate.

Can we somehow had an asterisk to the words "we stayed up" as it literally couldn't have been any closer to the opposite.

If we’d have gone down by a point or goal difference would the critics be saying ‘it literally couldn’t have been any closer to the opposite’. No, it would have been a binary outcome, which it is, we stayed up.

That Luton game was so bad. I can get past most of the other stuff but losing that one was diabolical.

Redemption can only come by turning one of this seasons 'Expected Losses' into a win.
You can see when we win and he claps the crowd there is that little conceited grin on his face.

When we lose it the strikers fault and when we win it's all him.

We were dead lucky on Saturday and the only way my thought process will start to change is if he gets a result against them.

Obviously he (rightly) feels under pressure and probably taking the opportunity to let off some steam. It's been a really bad start to the season Sean, there is no escaping what the table says and XG won't keep us in the league.

Quite happy for him to get the hump just as long as the results come.

To be fair to him, he isn't quite as stubborn as some previous managers - but he takes a while to come around.

Dropping Keane and putting Garner in the middle has been what a lot of fans have been asking for.

Also, i think if we were all honest, football managers have to be egotistical to survive in the PL for an extended period.

It only really matters that we’re safe in the league by the end of the season, doesn’t matter where the points come from. Fans need to get over the ‘embarrassment’ of one off games depending on the opposition. It was an opportunity for three points wasted at home, that’s all, we don’t need to demand a manager is fired because it’s Luton. Barcelona in their absolute prime lost at home to Hercules once with Royston Drenthe playing, it happens, even to the very best.

The real stat here is that 7 points from 8 games isn’t good enough, but recent form has improved with two league wins in three, that upward trajectory needs to be maintained. If we’d lost to Brentford but beaten Luton we’re arguably a worse team than a team capable of winning away at Brentford but people lose their head over the embarrassment of losing to Luton at home.

It was unfortunate but we started the game extremely well, looked good, didn't take our chances and then conceded two goals from set pieces. We have actually put in three really good performances this season and I can see a team taking shape. I am much more optimistic provided DCL stays fit. I think you are far to quick to blame the manager.

We are averaging under a point a game having only played Arsenal of any real note. Villa are the level below the “big 6”.

You want us to take close to 10 points from away games of Liverpool, Wham, palace, Burnley, forest & Spurs.
With home games against Brighton, man united, Newcastle and chelsea.

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we lose all 4 home games. And of the away games. The only ones we are likely to get anything from are Burnley, palace and forest and I would bet on us winning any of them.

I’ll happily be proved wrong by Dyche across these games.
