Dependent on the teams we're playing though. Those 20 games we got snotted by Arsenal, Fulham, Newcastle, City - teams way ahead of us. We got results against the teams around us and stayed up.

The only thing today should've been a competitive performance which is the worst thing. Not the idea we'd get a result as Villa are in on a different level to us.

So it's 2 games in. 1 we should've won. We're in need of signings and have been since January.

The Keane thing is unacceptable though
We won 3 in his first 7 and then picked up 4 points from 21

On one hand, I’m a bit sick of the same managerial merry-go-round that we have perpetually. On the other hand, we waited too long to sack Lampard which got us in deep trouble, and with the games we have to start this season we can’t afford to start with a losing streak to teams who will likely be our relegation rivals at the end of the season
The merry go round is because we are a club with as much of a shortage of strategy than the Mancs or Chelsea. Problem is we are more at watfords level than sky six.

We ARE a crisis club, and in a crisis, strong actions need to be taken quickly! Dyche can't do that, he's just a thick lump with no plan B... and we need a full alphabet of plans to have even a slim hope of getting out of this. And no, we do not owe Dyche anything, as we didn't owe Lampard anything, they're not blue, they're just passing through. We do however owe Benitez a lot of unpleasantness, as we do to his 'blue' supporters!

Therefore what makes you think any half decent manager will be wanting to come ere ? Or better yet do you trust the current chairman to appoint a decent successor ?

If we punt Dyche then we may well go down as some journeyman like Pardew or Vitor Peirera are not keeping us up.

You cant plait sawdust.

Branthwaite out and Keane on the pitch was terrible like, as was putting that useless RB at RB.
As bad as Oatterson was today, it would have made little difference. Villa had so much space down the flanks because the setup of Dyche, and this has been his way for years, is to have narrow fullbacks and fill the area. Absorbing every cross and dealing with the second ball to clear it

He also did not identify the pockets of space that were being utilised by villa.

What really surprises me is the lack of organisation in the defence, I don't know what they work on in training, but, it certainly isn't working. It was also interesting that. in only the second game of the season, there just seems to be a lack of urgency and desire throughout the team. It's as if they just don't understand what the training staff are asking them to do, perhaps the Ginger Louis Armstrong and his assistants are asking them questions which they don't have the answers to.

Keane is very poor, but, seems to be teachers pet and therefore undroppable. Doucoure is not capable of playing as a creative midfielder, he does have value as a box to box player, but, number 10? Onana is being wasted playing him as anything other than defensive midfielder and what on earth he thought he was doing bringing Oneyango on for the last few minutes of a disaster area I do not know, it was hardly going to give him any confidence though was it.

In conclusion, I don't believe Dyche is blameless here, he is not the main problem, but, he is a problem. He may keep us up, but, it won't be pretty, I don't think he is capable of building anything. What really surprised me today though were the lack of fight and the lack of organisation, the two things we are led to believe that Dyche teams are about.

It doesn;t matter what system you play if you haven;t got foirepower up front. We cant see out 0-0 games and we cant attack with those wide players injured and those we never bought leaving a huge hole where they should be in this team.

I did not think it would be possible for myself to dislike an Everton manager more than Benitez, this guy is pushing me close. What the hell does he do in training sessions, we look so disorganised in midfield and the defence is a bloody joke.

I appreciate that, massively, and it’s why I’ll never forgive that kopite dof for not addressing it

However, if you know you haven’t got the firepower and things are not working during the game you HAVE to change it. His tactical naivety has come to fruition on more than one occasion.

One way of setting up under any circumstances. It’s absolutely beyond belief that Frank Lampard has a better defensive record at Everton than Sean Dyche
