2024/25 Sean Dyche

I doubt he'll be here for the BMD kick off
I doubt he'll be gone during the International Break

So somewhere between the beginning of December and the end of June. (212 days??)

I figure as we're all waving goodbye to Goodison at the last ever home game Dyche will be waving goodbye right back at us.

A very good article by The Esk tbh. Hard to disagree with anything he has written here. Worth reading even if you don't like the guy. Obviously the Dychettes wont like it at all.

To be fair, on this he couldn't be any more correct.

Make the change asap this season, give the incumbent time to mould, view potential, scout for signings all while cementing, or at least starting to establish a style befitting of OUR Club.
It's a good read.

Wouldn't read anything that plonker wrote even if it was the winning lotto numbers.
That scurrilous rumour he posted about Moshiri being responsible for someone's suicide was the final straw for me.

He still has a few loyal lapdogs who swallow all his bs, but most of us see through him for being the bullshitter that he is at this stage.

Suppose it depends if you actually think we will get relegated given 1. We aren't in the relegation zone and 2. Dyche had these bad runs last season and we finished absolutely miles clear of the drop. Dyche is crap but we're not near in danger of the drop as it stands. We could easily appoint a manager in the vein of Russel Martin or Mckenna who whilst palying nicer stuff get worse results.

If he is to be sacked and then replaced who is making the decisions? Is it the current owner - who we all know is crap and will botch the appointment, the prospective new owner who has already dropped out of buying us once already and is about the 4th suitor to be at this stage of buying us- who has already got one managerial sacking disastrously wrong this season or Is it the DoF who is supposed to be calling the shots but only has 6 months left on his contract as it stands and could easily be out of the door as soon as the new owners come in?

Same goes for the new guy in once you've decided to sack Dyche. Either you let a fella choose who doesn't even own the club and should have no influence until its done, or you risk him sacking the new manager to get their guy in in 6 months time anyway. Or the sale falls through and you've appointed a manager to appease an American car salesman. And if you let Thelwell choose its the same dance where he could be out the door soon after and the owner could want a new style of play.

Is the guy that we appoint in November going to be the same number 1 target we would like to go for in the summer? Probably not. Dyche got the job in the first place because everyone else turned us down, there will be a lot better candidates if we wait. If the absolute number 1 target is Sarri or Potter then fine, but if we would be eyeing someone else up we should wait.

Will it take us over FFP thresholds? Do we even have the cash flow for it? It will cost 8 million to sack him, that's a new manager coming in having to finish 4 places above Dyche to make a 'profit' I'm not certain there's 4 places of improvement to be had with this squad without drastic investment.
TFG have got a sacking drastically wrong ??? Do you mean the guy who’d won 1 game in 10 or something along those lines. And the argument that the next manager would do worse is not a reason to keep dyche.

So you still don’t think TFG will happen?? Looks pretty close to happening from the reports I’m seeing. Any decision on dyche will have TFG finger prints all over it, moshiri checked out ages ago, if he was still invested, dyche would have gone last season, Everyone else turned us down, as everybody do you mean Bielsa, as there were only 2 in the frame. Thanks to our amazing owner and board, you don’t sit around and wait if you’re in free fall and the manager has lost the fans ( he already lost most of them) and the players.

We have till June 30 , 2025 to balance this years accounts, and I’m not sure how it works but I’d guess we’d just keep paying dyche abd his 2 cronies for another 18months. Young and Coleman’s wages will easily cover that. TFG group and Dan Friedman are worth about 18 billion so I’m not sure they will stress about 8mil.

Last point I’d say this squad should be 12th to 15th , so he’s under achieving

They quite obviously got the De Rossi sacking and his replacement wrong. And ye the argument that the new guy could do worse than Dyche is pretty solid one given getting it wrong could see us relegated.

I think TFG probably goes through but I wouldn't say I'm so confident I'd let them make massive decisions on it. 777 got further along. Textor got far enough along for the dodgy Mangala and Obrien deals. TFG looked fine the first time around. If there is one thing with our recent takeovers it's that it's not done until its done.

I’m saying that clearly something is wrong if last season we finished 12th and now we’re saying that we can’t possibly hope to achieve that position without investment.
I think we can achieve 12th with some luck. As I've already said, Dyche was extremely streaky last season as well.

I don't see the 4 places improvement from another manager we could realistically appoint would give over Dyche. Not that I don't think we can't finish 4 places above where we are in the table right now. Unlike Lampard where it was fairly obvious the squad was massively underachieving.

I thought you meant 4 places of improvement from the position we’re in now. Never mind, play on.
