2024/25 Sean Dyche

can you let us all know where the points are coming from, that you think he will easily keep us up, let's keep it simple next 8 games? so then that is half the season.

West Ham A
Brentford H
Man U A
Wolves H
Liverpool H
Arsenal A
Chelsea H
Man C A
Some horrendous fixtures coming up, I have zero faith that this manager can do the job he is supposed to do for us, which is make us hard to beat.

We’re coming to the end of the kinder fixtures and were right in the mess. I can only hope the players go on one of our little runs where they seem to ignore whatever the ginger skid mark is telling them and we play a bit more progressively.

Was the beto olex29 goal really scored under this managers direction, or did the players just think, f this for a game of soldiers, we’ll do what we want?

Leaving branthwaite on the bench is an absolute piss take, another stupid decision on top of numerous other stupid decisions he’s been making all season.

I don’t care if young has done alright recently, he’s on his way out and should never be starting matches for us - get Patterson or Dixon in, players who are under contract and will most likely be Everton players next season and on the upward curve of their careers.

Same goes for the cb - if branthwaite is fit he plays, and Keane or Tarks are out. O’Brien should have been used ahead of Keane anyway, another ridiculous call.

We all know the clubs a mess, but Dyche isn’t doing anything to help.

We’re not that difficult to beat under him, and I could just about stomach the turgid, hoofball if that was the case, sadly, we’re only difficult to watch.

Taxi time.

Strengthened? Not having that - ÂŁ70m out the door ÂŁ42m in - doesn't sound like investment to me. Virtually outspent by everyone in the PL bar liverpool & city (who didn't need it).
But we sold 2 fringe players and a player dyche didn’t wan and wasn’t playing
Ndiaye is arguably our best attacker so the first 11 is stronger imo, it’s definitely not weaker

Thats a scary run of fixtures the way we`re playing at the moment, maybe Wolves at home we could get something from, but they are due a win and we will probably serve it to them when they come along. Another thing is we will have a similar run of fixtures towards the end of the season as well, think end of March through April, so if we are looking for points to lift us out of danger then I think we`ll be in a bad way.

We can’t accurately assess how well the squad would perform under a different manager until we try .
Good managers can get more out of a team than the sum of it’s parts.
One thing is certain at the moment is that the current incumbent is failing .
Poor football , poor results.
This all day, I don’t get how because we’ve always been crap the manager gets a pass.

I know we’re a basket case club behind the scenes, but I’m not having that none of the problems are Dyches fault.

Some examples of the opposite of Dyche.

Emery at Villa.
Nuno at Forest.
Iraiola at Bournemouth.
Frank at Brentford.

That's fair enough and he is a bell but we never really strengthened the squad with Lindstrom bang average and broja turned up in ambulance... manager is grim but will stick by what I think we won't go down ...
Ndiaye
Mangala
Jesper
O’Brian

Stick with him and we shouldn’t go down hahahahah. We shouldn’t be going down with any manager. Our squad isn’t the best in the league, but it’s certainly not the worse either. Any half decent manager would have Everton sitting comfortably mid table. Dyche was talking about a relegation battle 3 games in. Dyche is the problem with our squad.

They’re not going to go down and they’re not going to sack him until the new regime takes over which is probably the right move.

If they sack him now they’re just going to continue in the habit of bringing crap managers in and they’re just going to spend more money sacking the new bloke when they’re taken over.

You can ask why they don’t bring someone in now to work with the new lot but this regime don’t have that kind of foresight or footballing nous and quite honestly I don’t think they care enough to support the new people once the cheque clears.

Get the take over done, bring in the best you can find, ensure everything around him is new and hope the fans get to watch attractive football because god knows in this rigged sport a team like Everton aren’t winning anything ever again and that’s about the best you can hope for

I've always been of the impression that we wont/cant go down because of the terrible standard of the lower half of the Premier League.

But if you want to look at it from a stats point of view, 0.9 points per game, with arguably games 11-19 harder than the first 10.

Over the full season that will be 34 points, some seasons that wouldn't be enough, but in recent years 30-32 has been enough to keep teams in the division due to the gap in quality.

Is there an argument to be had that we should be looking at more points over the season? And just relying on other teams being awful isn't a great tactic from the manager?

I'm currently comforting myself in the delusion that we perform well/our one tactic is a better fit vs the better teams.

I think if we're half the season in and under 20 points we are in deep deep doodoo. And no, I can't see where we're getting 11 points from by that point either.
