2024/25 Sean Dyche

I just don’t understand why we have to take entrenched positions and point blank refuse to see the other side of the coin. He’s a bog standard PL manager who plays dull football but we’re a crap team with no money and his remit is pretty obviously just to keep us up. I don’t see what the big drama is to be honest, we all know he’s not the long term answer but making out like every single thing that happens is a sign of his incompetence or whatever is just beyond tiresome.

On the lowest budgets in the PL.

We are creating enough to win games, but not finishing. Southampton got one chance the week before and finished to win, we missed 4.

Are you saying our finishing is excellent and we are very good at it?
But palace missed some great chances as did Fulham and Newcastle,
We didn’t deserve a point in them games. Southampton and Ipswich we’ve had chances but you talk about budgets, well them 2 have poor squads. And hardly any of their players get in our team, I’d say our squad is better than 5/6 others.
We have a forward line worth 150/200 mil

I think the panic probably comes from the manager we’re entrusting to keep us up having two relegations on his CV.

Thats not what i asked.

My point isnt about Fulham or Newcastles finishing is it. Its about ours.

DCL is worth the square root of 0 next summer, Beto bought becuase he was the only striker in Europe we could buy on the never, never - so limited scope. Chermitti and Broja - fixer upers and havent kicked a PL ball this season.

What the net spend on attacking players sold and brought in.

Hardly created anything yesterday bar the header that was tipped over and a couple of long range shots.

Fulham had the marginal offside goal and then nothing until pretty much the Beto goal. Fulham were also missing Joachim Andersen in that game.

Newcastle wasn't a huge amount either bar the penalty shout and then Gana somehow missing the follow up from five yards out.

Yes plenty created v Southampton but they are bottom for a reason so you should be opening up their backline 2-3 times in each half.

Dyche teams will always be low chance creators based on set up. What helped massively in the first year of it was Doucoure being the perfect sort of 10 for the system and getting in the box and finishing off rebounds. He dosen't look a scoring threat anymore so really aside from Ndiaye or Dwight getting a few shots in I'm struggling to see who else is going to even chip in five goals this season from beyond the CF positions.

At this level that has to be in the back of the net.

We create enough chances, not to dismiss creativity with poor quality finishing.

Week in, week out.

I had issues getting the river up until 8-9 minutes into the game so first time I saw that chance was on MOTD! 🤣

Yeah it was a decent worked counter but Doucs is hardly some pace merchant so he needed to shoot a bit early as Summerville with his pace was always going to get back.

It wasn't quite like Summerville himself being in on goal with just Pickford to beat and hits the post, that's proper chance creation and West Ham had a couple more late on in the game with Ings.

Harrison the week before.

Finishing is the difference between 1 point and potentially 4-6.

The last two games, were two games we were in control of, had enough chances to win and didn't because the quality of our finishing.

Cant leave those games behind you.

Problem is and I don’t think DCL is top class but I think he would do better with a better manager in a better set up and system . But he’s done with dyche and doesn’t want to play for him.
Maybe when Broja is fit, that will be the end of DCL
