2024/25 Sean Dyche

I dunno mate. I think I'm dead on about our full backs, I don't think any manager is gonna get DCL and Beto bagging all the time. But our CBs and midfielders are mid-table quality.
If they were mid table quality, they wouldn’t be here. Our most competent CM is 35 years old and the second best couldn’t get consistent minutes for Forest.

We are losing every single game he’s allowed to take charge of from now onwards. We can’t afford to let him back into Finch Farm. He has to be gone tonight and a caretaker in charge for Wolves. We can’t afford to throw that game.

For all our disagreement, I do agree with this. You can tell both him and the players know that it's inevitable. Has to be done soon.

That bold.

Hope you're right mate.

We'll soon find out.

My own view I've long shared on here is we're in a bad way until we add pace and goals.
I wonder if Villa fans thought that when Gerrard was manager and how many thought they were getting relegated because the players were awful. A change to a manager who knew how to succeed and the rest is history, it’s not an implausible concept to suggest a better manager improves this team it’s actually harder to think how it could be worse.

He’s more or less openly admitting he doesn’t have the answers to improve the team. Just shrugging his shoulders.

If he’s concluded he’s incapable of improving the team he should have some dignity, agree a settlement and we’ll terminate by mutual consent.

….to be fair, he’s pretty much said the same thing after most games since he’s been here; lack of quality in possession, no adequate goalscorer and failure to exploit opportunities in the top third.

He’s been spot on with that judgement.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an almost public spat going on between manager & DOF. Thelwell will hate these regular jibes from Dyche at the lack of quality at his disposal. Thelwell knows the fans loath Dyche and leaks to Bobble that he wants him sacked. Such conflict will inevitably manifest itself on the pitch.

They both need moving on now.

Paul bloody Heckingbottom utilised Ndiaye better than this clown. Let that sink in.

Championship is a different kettle of fish mate. Maupay was the top goalscorer there. He struggled for Marseille.

NDiaye looks a very good player, lash runners around him and he goes to another level. We have Mykolenko behind him. Id have him behind the striker myself but didn't really do anything there second half Vs Brentford.

Yes, the delusion is strong on here about this squad of players.

The footballing intelligence - to say nothing of the actual intelligence - of our players is Daily Sport level. Then there are the technical deficiencies, players who cannot pass a ball, finish one-on-ones, make simple tackles (like Tarkowski today)...

We're in for a very long six months or so.

But apparently calling the squad out for being crap is defending Dyche?

I don’t understand why people can’t understand there are two realities here. Woeful manager, only here because of how bad we’ve been ran for years. Woeful squad (exactly same reason why half these players are here - would a competent premier league team have a 40 year old at rb?) that is bereft of any discernible quality.

Who is watching these players and thinking “we’re not getting the best out of these here” - it’s a tragic squad. Especially for our last year at Goodison. Don’t get me started on the fella in the dugout, farcical he’s in charge for the grand old ladies last hurrah.

This is all on Moshiri/boardroom and their abysmal decisions in the last 7 years.
