2024/25 Sean Dyche

Its Dyche job to improve players or find alternative strategies.

If you are seriously saying the likes of Harrison, Ndiaye, McNeil, Lindstrøm don't possess ability then I'm not sure you will ever see the situation for what it is.

You only need to see their past performances to see they possess ability.
But Dyche admittedly sees that as secondary. The hard yards first etc.

These players are set up to fail by Dyche and his tactics. He's been one of the least productive managers throughout his career when it comes to attacking play.
We could give him Messi and Ronaldo but he would still hinder them.

Its no coincidence that aside from McNeil, every single attacker has regressed under Dyche.
No way you’ve just listed them 4 as if they’re prime 09 Barca 🤣.

N’Diaye looks a proper talent (unproven outside of the championship) Lindstrom has been highly rated elsewhere but flopped in Italy and looks way too lightweight for over here - the other two?! Proper, proper 15-20th prem wingers, wouldn’t look out of place in the top 6 in the championship.

But apparently calling the squad out for being crap is defending Dyche?

I don’t understand why people can’t understand there are two realities here. Woeful manager, only here because of how bad we’ve been ran for years. Woeful squad (exactly same reason why half these players are here - would a competent premier league team have a 40 year old at rb?) that is bereft of any discernible quality.

Who is watching these players and thinking “we’re not getting the best out of these here” - it’s a tragic squad. Especially for our last year at Goodison. Don’t get me started on the fella in the dugout, farcical he’s in charge for the grand old ladies last hurrah.

This is all on Moshiri/boardroom and their abysmal decisions in the last 7 years.
This is it. It's like worrying about the mediocre man in the seat when your F1 drive is an old boxcar with three wheels.

Bigger picture is these players are simply not of the standard any of us should be tolerating. The manager's position is untenable, but people are deluded if they think a new manager alone rectifies this mess. We need serious investment. A new manager and new players.

The media has him as our saviour though. The outrage when this guy gets the boot will be all about Dyche being the perfect manager for our 'situation' and that we are crazy for sacking him.

There won’t be any outrage

It’s him drumming up the “we’re crap and this is all we can do” noise but it’s not landing anymore

McNeil has been terrible last 5 games

You’ve changed your tune, considering he wasn’t at fault for Burnley going down in 2022 a week ago

Im not sure I've changed tune mate. He still wasn't the manager who got them relegated.

Everyone has line. I'm still not 100% sure I'm there, but we imploded defensively against a poor team today. Like all the time we were playing badly and not conceding many is one thing. That's basically your best way of staying up. If you start conceding lots of goals, it's a different matter.

I also think look, TFG are going to bring their own person in. In as far as he has a chance to impress, he hasn't done that this season. So you are left with 2 maybe 3 games. For the home games, I think probably having Baines/Coleman gives us just as much chance.

With respect though, none of the above means he was manager of Burnley when they were relegated in 2022.

Feel like I’m shouting into the void here, appreciate the anger towards the manager but where’s the same energy for these players/the recruitment team/boardroom? Is it just all the manager for now? I guess we’ve done the boardroom and blamed the recruitment before - must be a cycle.

Yup, amazing that people rate these abject mediocrities. No wonder there is no pride in our shirt anymore. We'll have any old tat play for us, it seems.

Dont delay the inevitable. Whatever happens the Friedkins will have to pay his sacking clause. I would look at getting coleman and baines in as caretaker this week until they appoint someone.

It’s so frustrating. We’ve just become an irrelevance. I was in the car listening to the end of the game on the radio on 5live and we barely had a mention. It was all about United and their new manager. We just get a cursory mention and continuing the fallacy that Dyche is doing a good job in challenging circumstances. Fans are told they should be grateful to have someone as defensively organised as Dyche.

I didn't blame him for Burnley's relegation. Their owners sold all their decent players and didn't replace them, making it inevitable they'd be relegated. However he was the manager for most of the season so it's fair to say he was in charge for most of the time and it's on his record.

15th beyond xmas?!?!? I'd like a pint or two of whatever you're having please! Leics, Wolves and one of Palace or Ipswich could all be above us come Wed night. We'll be lucky to be anything other than 19th this time next week.
That's literally what I'm saying. I think you should have a pint or two less on a Sunday afternoon, bud.
