2024/25 Sean Dyche

The lad who scored a handful of goals for Southampton in the second divison and a kid who has barely ever kicked a ball in the Prem. That's who we're counting on to get us 25+ points in the second half of the season is it. What a club.
Sad isn’t it? But given Beto and Calvert-Lewin have managed to score *checks notes* 3 goals between them so far this season, I’m not sure they could be any worse. Calvert-Lewin is probably sulking about still being here and Beto isn’t good enough.

That's my point: between Beto, Broja, DCL and the kid there isn't really a "better" or "worse" set of options. Not one club in the league would swap their striker options for ours. I doubt most Championship teams would come to think of it.

The only thing Dyche has wanted in any team he’s ever been in charge of, is grocks at the back and big grock(s) up front, for the rest of the team to aim at.

That’s the Sean Dyche masterclass.
Indeed, which is why I think some of the players will be more suited to a new manager. However most of our players aren't good enough whoever is managing them.

In a lot of ways, Dyche has been hung out to dry. I'm kind of amazed it's not worse. They all know he's done.

Apparently TFG are close. Personally I'd probably do something mad and put a temporary caretaker on charge (Baines/Coleman) for the next two home games. Get the crowd behind the team etc, and hope TFG have someone lined up.
You’ve changed your tune, considering he wasn’t at fault for Burnley going down in 2022 a week ago

….to be fair, he’s pretty much said the same thing after most games since he’s been here; lack of quality in possession, no adequate goalscorer and failure to exploit opportunities in the top third.

He’s been spot on with that judgement.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an almost public spat going on between manager & DOF. Thelwell will hate these regular jibes from Dyche at the lack of quality at his disposal. Thelwell knows the fans loath Dyche and leaks to Bobble that he wants him sacked. Such conflict will inevitably manifest itself on the pitch.

They both need moving on now.

Its Dyche job to improve players or find alternative strategies.

If you are seriously saying the likes of Harrison, Ndiaye, McNeil, Lindstrøm don't possess ability then I'm not sure you will ever see the situation for what it is.

You only need to see their past performances to see they possess ability.
But Dyche admittedly sees that as secondary. The hard yards first etc.

These players are set up to fail by Dyche and his tactics. He's been one of the least productive managers throughout his career when it comes to attacking play.
We could give him Messi and Ronaldo but he would still hinder them.

Its no coincidence that aside from McNeil, every single attacker has regressed under Dyche.
