2024/25 Sean Dyche

The Answer to the First question is obviously no

Second question is harder to answer. It's subjective. If you look at NET spend we are the lowest in the league... And just in a general sense while I don't think we have 3rd worst squad, I do think we have the worst full back options in the entire division, I would say bottom 5 in terms of strikers. The only players who I can confidently say get into every other bottom half first 11 are Pickford and Branthwaite.

So while I still think the answer to the first question is no, I do think we massively overrate our current squad.
I think a fit Chermiti and Broja could be our first choice strikers by January. Sending Beto back to Italy might free up some spending money for a new left back.

Yes mate, it wasn’t fantastic at all.

People say it’s fantastic because what Emery did, but nobody in the world of football was saying that squad was European challenge at these start of that season

And like is, the fans were saying the players weren’t good enough. Bailey used to get pelters from their fans

?????

Had to quote that twice.

Look at their squad for that season, compare that for 20 seconds with our squad.

Still not a fantastic squad,
The thing what you’re doing is looking at a player that Emery got a tune out of and Gerrard didn’t and thinking they’re better than they’re. Players like Ashley young,
Matty cash, Tyrone mings, Dendoncker, Buendia Ramsey.
Good players and this is not a comparison with our squad, but he got them top 6 on 2/3rds of a season

Need a club statement on this sh*show.
Or do the powers that be not have confidence, as in vote of confidence, in the management team?
Here's your club statement: 'owner Farhad Moshiri is potentially days away from finally getting rid of a business that has cost him hundreds of millions of pounds and he's been trying to offload for 2+ years to absolutely anyone willing to take it. There's 2/3s of the season to go, everything is fine, he doesn't care one iota about anything other than the sale, and soon enough it'll all be someone else's problem to deal with'.

Unsurprisingly not a single team in the entire football league have scored fewer.

Utterly sick of this dross year in year out. If we are gonna go down then let’s at least throw a punch.
What happened to that league table that was bandied about every 2nd post of how he'd turned us around when we were in the bottom 5 of the entire league?

Can we do a current year one too, just as a reference?

Only squad I'm arsed about is ours. And, yes, its pretty poor. But not having it they cant string 10 passes together and attack intelligently. No, this is purely on the manager who was a yard dog as a player and an absolute relic as a manager. Get him gone.
Well if you listen to some on here until we replace everyone and invest dont expect us to pass the ball 10 yards and move into space.

Apparently we are not capable of that with this current squad

I think a fit Chermiti and Broja could be our first choice strikers by January. Sending Beto back to Italy might free up some spending money for a new left back.
The lad who scored a handful of goals for Southampton in the second divison and a kid who has barely ever kicked a ball in the Prem. That's who we're counting on to get us 25+ points in the second half of the season is it. What a club.

The Villa Gerrard/Emery comparison isn’t great as they had a fantastic squad which was being coached woefully by a terrible manager. They now have a fantastic squad which is overachieving because of a brilliant manager.

We have a crap squad which is doing crap with a crap manager.
Yes it’s a terrible comparison which conclusively disproves how a better manager could actually improve the same team that an awful manager was failing with 😀

….to be fair, he’s pretty much said the same thing after most games since he’s been here; lack of quality in possession, no adequate goalscorer and failure to exploit opportunities in the top third.

He’s been spot on with that judgement.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an almost public spat going on between manager & DOF. Thelwell will hate these regular jibes from Dyche at the lack of quality at his disposal. Thelwell knows the fans loath Dyche and leaks to Bobble that he wants him sacked. Such conflict will inevitably manifest itself on the pitch.

They both need moving on now.
I agree. We need a fresh start with a decent DOF and a head coach who can work together. The coach can ask for what he wants and the DOF can get it for him. Pace and goals are what we need.
