2024/25 Sean Dyche

So, if Dyche will be the manager for a while, and the team doesn't look coached, which if both of you are correct, will mean we should be expecting many more losses until he is sacked.

Certainly looks like 17th is nailed on.

If we sell JB before the window closes, we will be relegated.
I wouldn`t say 17th is nailed on, you won`t see 3 teams with points tallies like last season.

I`d say we could be in danger, it will be another long and exhausting season... unless we get a competent manager.

Brighton are ran such that they have a continuity of football philosophy, despite manager changes. They are a good team and look like they'll be contenders for top 6 this season.

You're proving my point about people losing their heads with statements like it "looks like they haven't worked on anything" as that is just objectively false.

I can't really argue with you on persisting with Doucoure, but I can see an argument for sticking with what he knows for the opening game when the team has injuries. He's a pragmatist, we all know this. Like I said originally, it might not be for you and that's completely understandable, but it's the way it is and is likely going to see us comfortably safe for another year.
How have you the arrogance to say "we will be comfortably safe"?

I`m not sure we get as many points as last season, we are doing the exact same thing again this season and can not score goals yet again but conceding... same will happen today.

Dyche's teams usually start slow and then pick up. His whole coaching style is repetition with his style of play, so it takes time to get that rhythm, particularly defensively. Add a few injuries in and it leaves the team vulnerable. He's the kind of manager who'll have the team running up mountains or whatever though pre-season in bin bags rather than working on tactics because he only has one way of playing anyway.

I think we'll be lower mid table most of the season, but a slow start always leaves you playing catch up.

Mate i lost my head with this fella when we kept him on after the Bournemouth game.

He brings zero joy to sitting down and watching this team play whether its on the telly or at the game.

No way we are we are comfortably safe with him, we will be looking over our shoulder for 95% of the season playing the worst football possible.
If your going to play turgid football then you have to get results, even you dont get either then expect severe criticism.

You call me arrogant for saying we'll be comfortably safe. The evidence for me is the 60ish league games I've seen us play under Dyche. You say we can't score goals, but we create more than enough chances to score more and I believe over time that levels out. We'll never be high scorers under Dyche like.

You're saying we leak goals, I'm guessing you are only basing that off one game in which we were missing 2 of our first choice back 4. I know we won't ship loads because since Dyche has came in we've had one of the better defensive records in the league. We'll lose a fair few games this season, but I suspect not many more by more than a single goal.
