2024/25 Sean Dyche

Not sure how wise his words are, but they are bang on, certainly recent years. Not even sure it’s a bad thing, the high expectations and demands, but he summed it up quite well. Would have been different at Burnley. When they were doing well, they were over achieving so losses will have been “oh well, we go again.” When they were losing, they have had decades to get used to it, tiny budget, national media complete indifference.

No point being hurt and defensive over his words. Same would apply to many clubs.

He does have a point and everyone on here knows it. If anyone has an issue with what he’s saying, that’s probably because they know they’re one of the ones he’s talking about. It isn’t just the team as a whole, it’s individual players. Some on here go from “love the lad, first name on the team sheet” after a half decent performance and a team win, to “absolute sh!te get him sold” the following week after a bad team defeat. He’s right.
Not one sane Evertonian thinks we should be getting into Europe

Name these players please

Were there shouts about home form under Carlo? Just out of interest.

He's million times the manager than Dyche, but his home form in prem was worse.

Yes there was. However “home” games with no crowd aren’t actually home games and are just training sessions imo. Dyche having the advantage of the home crowd definitely makes a very big difference.

I just cannot connect with this man, I've tried, I really have, I just find him unlikeable and arrogant. No ones claiming we should 'be in Europe', somehow any criticism is shrugged off as 'what do you expect' A pass through midfield and I would jizz myself, i'm really not expecting much.
This x 1000%. He's acting as if we expected to smash Brighton. A decent set up , with a team that looks like it had a plan and a close loss or draw and the reaction would not have been the same. But we lost 3 nil at home to a midtable team and our only tactic was long balls to a 5.9 winger.

People in May were arguing his case for manager of the season.

Same people want him sacked after 1 game this season.
And?

He ain't going anywhere anytime soon. I wouldn't mind him being sacked if we had a better manager lined up, and I also wouldn't be surprised if we were looking back at the end of the season thinking he did a good job overall.

Can we please see who voted the top 2 though.

"And?" You think it's reasonable to believe he's a candidate for manager of the season at the end of one season, and then want him sacked after 1 game the following?

A fair point, watching football with no crowds was terrible, but yet to away form under Carlo was way better than the home form.

Dyche had 28 points last season. It's not a good home form, but not bad it's just average top of bottom half. But you didn't go into the stadium for watching good football under him.

There was maybe against Newcastle, Chelsea.
