2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Yeah, let’s replace a manager who can’t get us scoring with another manager who can’t get teams scoring.

Dyche needs to go now but potter would be a terrible replacement
Potter would be a good appointment if you have time to implement a style, West Ham is in a situation they can allow that. In a bad position in the table, but enough points to be out of the relegation battle, but yet far away of where they should be.

We need wins, style doesn't matter atm.

When you make managerial changes at this stage of the season you're genuinely shopping around in the yellow stickered section of the shelf labelled "Football Managers" - there aren't a wealth of inspiring, successful and competent people freely available and unemployed in January.

Not too different from buying players in January really.
Not too sure I agree in general terms mate. A lot of clubs and managers part ways in Dec/Jan, and there could always be some decent managers for whom it just didn't work out or the clubs acted hastily.

That's also assuming that an established, top flight name is the way to go. The last manager we had, that had a sustained period of anything resembling success (certainly relevant to now) was a little Scottish goblin from Preston NE.

I can’t believe he’s actually staying. Disgusting gross negligence from the new owners in my opinion. Really disheartening and not a very good way to start your tenure, they’re on the back foot with the fans already.
I think in an ideal world they would like him to get to the summer so they can get their number 1 target.

Unfortunately Dyche will force their hand to fire him because he’s useless at his job.
One more defeat in the next 2 games and he’s gone.

If he is fired and we end up with Potter I wouldn’t think that’s their prime target but more with timing and circumstances.

It’s not an ideal world though and this fella is on course to add a third relegation to his CV. We need action right now.

I’d be astonished if he takes any more league games.

What’s the actual reason it’s been put back 3 hours btw, has this been clarified?
Joe Thomas (Echo) has just said this on Twitter, so no real answer but do find it particularly odd that it’s randomly 3 hours late.

Can see why they might want to wait until the ideal replacement is sealed, but if Dyche knows he’s on the way out, that can’t be good for his motivation. We can’t afford to be throwing points away with a departing manager doing a half-hearted job.
He's doing a terrible job regardless.
No league game for over a week. And a new manager won't get much time regardless before then . Ideally he'd be gone .. but id rather wait a few days and have it done correctly
